Riot had announced earlier this year that the structure of VCT would face a drastic change in the upcoming year including a new League System where only the teams determined to be eligible by Riot will be allowed to participate. Over the last few weeks, leaks and rumors had started to surface regarding the final roster of teams that would be included but it wasn’t until today that the list has been confirmed by Riot itself.

Here are all the teams that have been selected to participate in VCT 2023 - Americas League:

  • 100 Thieves
  • Cloud9
  • Evil Geniuses
  • Sentinels
  • LOUD
  • FURIA
  • KRÜ Esports
  • Leviatán
  • NRG Esports
  • mibr

Unlike EMEA, the teams in Americas League have had considerable experience playing in VCT tournaments, be it only regional ones or International LANs. In fact, half of these teams were participants at the recently concluded VCT 2022 - Champions Istanbul with LOUD emerging victorious after a successful Upper Bracket run.

Sentinels was once a household name in the Valorant scene as they dominated several teams during the inaugural season of VCT but have unable to prove their worth on the big stage ever since. Cloud9 had a strong start to the VCT season but lost their edge two tournaments in and finished the Season placing 4th in the NA LCQ. With the introduction of International Leagues, NRG and EG might finally get the big breakthrough they had been searching for.

“Since being named as the head coach of the Evil Geniuses VALORANT team earlier this year I’ve worked tirelessly with the EG gaming team to build a squad that can compete for the biggest titles in this game,” said Christine "Potter" Chi, VALORANT head coach at Evil Geniuses. “Today, the hard work, and this organization’s dedication to this game and its community has been recognized by Riot Games and we can’t wait to bring our very best to the VCT in 2023.”

This year, the competition will start with the VCT 2023 - LOCK//IN and we will watch all teams around the world compete including the aforementioned 10 from Americas.
