DfuseTeam takes down Alliance with a convincing 2-0 victory

The second match of the day pitted Alliance against Team BDS, following the thrilling encounter between Guild Esports and FunPlus Phoenix with the latter taking the 2-1 victory. The matchup determines who will continue their VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - Europe Masters run, and be the second side of that Group B Upper Bracket Final.

DfuseTeam started the first map, Ascent, winning the pistol round followed up by a flawless second, making it 2-0 in their favor. Later on, Alliance stole a round off their opponents, but individual brilliance from Jonathan "TakaS" Paupard and Alex "AKUMAAAAA" Lo Bello expanded their team’s lead to 6-1.

The game continued and Alliance pulled it back to 7-7, closing the gap and giving their team’s economy a much needed boost. Both kept going back and forth till it reached 12-11 in DfuseTeam’s favor, with AKUMAAAAA clutching the final round for his squad after being put in a tense 1v3 situation.

This loss put Alliance a map behind, and considering Ascent was their own pick, it definitely took its toll on the team. Split was chosen by DfuseTeam as the second map of the series, and their preparation was apparent as they once again were 6-1 up over Alliance in no time. Dylan "hoppY" Aube tried his best to make it 7-1, but Niels "luckeRRR" Jasiek had other thoughts. The German grabbed the second round for his squad, keeping them in the match.

The prospect of a comeback didn’t last long as DfuseTeam won the following five rounds, extending their lead to 11-3 before Alliance snatched another round in a dire attempt to close the gap. TakaS pulled out an amazing ace with his Jett to put his team at match point, summing up their dominance over the entire series.

Now we have both our Group B Upper Bracket Final sides, DfuseTeam up against FunPlus Phoenix. Both of today’s matches were up to par with everything European VALORANT esports’ fans expected and more. Let us know how much you are enjoying the action so far.
