Elderflame won’t stay the most expensive VALORANT skin for long

The recent Elderflame skins’ price has stirred up a bit of controversy within the VALORANT community. Riot Games released the Elderflame bundle on July 10th, priced at around $100 USD. According to the studio’s blog post regarding skins’ price tiers, the recently released set was classified as VALORANT’s first Ultra edition, which means we are yet to receive the most expensive tier, the Exclusive edition.

Apparently, the Exclusive tier is saved for melee weapons, and cost around double the price per item as proven with the previous bundles. For example, the Luxe Melee, which falls under the Select category, came with a 1750 Valorant Points price tag, translating into $18. This is double the average price per skin when the weapons are grouped into one purchase.

The Revenue Lead of VALORANT at Riot Games, Joe Lee, previously explained the studio’s decision not to allow skin trading in their title. He justified their reasoning as to allow the community to have the freedom to directly purchase the skin they prefer from the shop when it is available. However, with the Ultra edition priced at $100 and the trajectory indicating around $125 for the Exclusive tier with its melee weapon going for around $65, would this really allow the community to have access to the skins they want?

What do you think of the newly released Elderflame bundle? Do you think Riot Games will ever reconsider their skin prices down the line? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below!

While the majority of the community agrees the skins are overpriced, Riot has already been validated by people buying these skins at the current price. They're not going to reduce with how successful they've been already.

"allow the community to have the freedom to directly purchase the skin they prefer from the shop when it is available" Well why not have the freedom to trade with people? It's because the revenue leads are being greedy here and don't want to be undercut by skin marketplaces like in csgo.

they explained it before thoroughly, and the primary reason is they don't want people to feel left out of certain skins or that they have to spend X amount of money and hope for the best to get it out of a box. It makes sense really that at least when you see someone using a skin you like, you get the chance to buy it from the store when it is eventually there.

Riot is some cash grabbing cucks. Let us trade skins.

Honestly, the skins are very expensive. But the game itself is free. So it's not about Riot being greedy. They need to make money out of this game and they ask for that money from the people that are willing to give it away. If that works for them, I don't see why they would change the prices. They already have some individual models that are "cheaper" anyway and the premium battle pass gives a lot of skins as well (although grinding through it can be a full time job ?)

1. It's kinda pointless to argue the price is "too high" if people buy it.
2. I agree that since the game is free, riot can never be truly greedy as it's only cosmetics.

First of all, Pokimane is definitely the best waifu ?
Secondly, I agree with you on the topic of there is no point in arguing the price is too high as the amount of people complaining, there is more than double that number willing to purchase the skins for sure regardless of their price.

I understand people being held back by these skin prices, especially because you cannot trade or sell them, but to be fair skins are not necessary to succeed as they don't give you any advantage. After playing lots of CS I know how it is to spend much money for the game you love.
