After announcing plans to trial replacements following the departure of Kenneth "koosta" Suen and benching Loic "effys" Sauvageau, Gen.G Esports have finally announced the acquisition of Bryce  "PureR" Lovell and Noah "jcStani" Smith as the new additions to their Valorant roster.

Gen.G was arguably in their best form during Stage 1 of VCT 2021 when they managed to secure a 3rd place at VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - North America Masters only a few days after a 4th at VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - North America - Challengers 3. Due to frequent roster changes, their performance stagnated while other teams rose through the ranks surpassing them on several occasions.

However, they managed to maintain the 5th-6th spot in most tournaments securing them a rank among the top ten teams in the North American region based on circuit points in VCT 2021 and granted them a spot at VCT 2021 - North America Last Chance Qualifier. Unfortunately, though, they couldn’t finish better than 5th-6th place even at that tournament. Ever since the start of the new VCT season, the team had to encounter unpleasant fate as they failed to to qualify from either of the Stage 1 Qualifiers, eliminating them from the race to the VCT 2022 - Stage 1 - Masters Reykjavík. This performance caused the organization to re-evaluate plans for the roster and initiate efforts to begin the process of restructuring.

However, today marks the first additions the roster since December 2021 and its none other than Bryce  "PureR" Lovell and Noah "jcStani" Smith. jcStani was a part of Kansas City Pioneers’s active roster and had been competing for the team since November 2020 contributing to their recent performances including 5th-8th place at Knights Arena VALORAMPAGE - Main Event and NSG 2022 Winter Championship - Finals. After 100 Thieves lost against The Guard with a 2-1 final score in VCT 2022 - North America - Stage 1 - Main Event, 100 Thieves decided to make the most sudden roster change in the history of Valorant esports and jcStani was amongst the two players to be loaned within a span of 24 hours.

On the other hand, PureR had been one of the most important pieces of XSET’s roster throughout the inaugural VCT season maintaining a 1.07 rating, 229.9 ACS, and 1.12 K/D in his time competing for the team. XSET had been on the battlefield during every regional major tournament earning them a spot at the VCT 2021 - North America Last Chance Qualifier with PureR. Despite a fascinating run in the tournament, Cloud9 got the better of them and diminished their hopes of qualifying for any international tournaments in the year. To change this trend, XSET decided to part ways with Purer and sign Matthew "Cryocells" Panganiban from SoaR as a replacement in the off-season.

With these changes, Gen.G’s roster is as follows:

Shawn "Shawn" O'Riley Nicholas "NaturE" Garrison Emir "rhyme" Muminovic Noah "jcStani" Smith Bryce  "PureR" Lovell Andrew "Blank" Leverette (Manager) Chris "Elmapuddy" Tebbit (Coach)
