Ghost Gaming just announced the introduction of Alex "aproto" Protopapas to their Valorant roster. aproto could potentially be the final piece to their roster before the start of Stage 2 of VCT 2022.

Aproto marked the start of his Valorant career with Mixup, which was later acquired vt Luminosity. Although Luminosity Gaming was one of the top 10 teams in the NA region according to circuit points, they had an average VCT run at best with failure to qualify for Stage 2 Challengers, and no international event participations.

Both Stage 1 and Stage 3 saw some unexpected performances, including the 3rd place at VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - North America - Challengers 3 and months later in VCT 2021 - Stage 3 - North America - Challengers 2. Their run at VCT 2021 - North America Last Chance Qualifier was cut short in the first round itself in the Upper Bracket by XSET and in Lower Bracket by Gen.G. To strengthen their roster coming into the 2022 season, Luminosity Gaming decided to part ways with Alex "aproto" Protopapas and Diondre "YaBoiDre" Bond and trial replacements.

On the other hand, Ghost Gaming had a poor run in the VCT 2021 season where the team most notably won Pittsburgh Knights Monthly Gauntlet 2021 - July: Campfire Chaos and placed second at NSG 2022 Winter Championship - Online Open 5 and NSG Summer Champs- Summer Champs - Open 12 but failed to make it through any of the VCT NA Open Qualifiers. They decided to combat this situation by maintaining their core roster while bringing on a Brock "brawk" Somerhalder and Mohamed Amine "Johnqt" Quarid. After encountering failure in Stage 1 Open Qualifiers of the ongoing VCT season, they decided to introduce more changes to their roster by parting ways with Ryan "ryann" Welsh, whom aproto will replace in the team.

With the change, Ghost Gaming are:

Marki "NiSMO" Tayar GianFranco "koalanoob" Potestio Brock "brawk" Somerhalder Mohamed Amine "Johnqt" Quarid Alex "aproto" Protopapas Adam "kaplan" Kaplan (Head Coach)
