After weeks of plenty of speculation and rumors, it appears that former player Josh "JoshRT" Lee will officially join NRG Esports as their new VALORANT head coach.

The move comes a month after former head coach Chet "Chet" Singh decided to step down from the role in order to pursue different opportunities in both Counter-Strike and VALORANT. Chet transitioned to VALORANT with Damian "daps" Steele late in 2020 and helped create the current roster that NRG is sporting.

Meanwhile for Josh, this signifies the end of his current playing career as he makes the moves towards coaching. As a player, Josh was usually the teams primary smoker as Omen or Brimstone, and most recently Astra. With the next major tournament start date still yet to be announced, NRG will have plenty of time to come up with strategies with their new coach in order to qualify for Masters 3.

NRG Esports are now:

Canada Damien "daps" Steele United States Sam "s0m" Oh Canada Daniel "eeiu" Vucenovic Canada Bradley "ANDROID" Fodor United States Ian "tex" Botsch

United States Josh "JoshRT" Lee (Head coach)
