The year 2022 is already underway, which means that we are only a few days ago from the commencement of the second season of the VALORANT Champions Tour. While several teams introduced changes to their existing rosters, others decided to pursue a more aggressive approach. Given that all members of their active roster have been signed in the last three months, there is no doubt that Pittsburgh Knights is part of the latter category. Their latest announcement was when they acquired Amgalan "Genghsta" Nemekhbayar from Immortals.

Genghsta was a founding member of the Immortals’ original lineup since May 2020, when it was first unveiled. His last appearance with the team was in Community Gaming VALORANT Elite Showdown - Main Event, where they had to face defeat at the hands of Kansas City Pioneers immediately after Group Stages. Following the tournament, Genghsta competed in the NSG 2022 Winter Championship - Online Open 6; however, this time with the Pittsburgh Knights, who had been testing replacements for Drake "Exalt" Branly since he was declared inactive in October.

Pittsburgh Knights had quite a strong run in that tournament ending their run with a 2nd place finish after a close defeat against Akrew on overtime. Amgalan "Genghsta" Nemekhbayar had significant role in the Knights run as evidenced by his 1.16 Rating and 212 ACS. The Knights have had an unfortunate year in terms of VCT placements, with no Challenger qualifications in either of the three stages. However, they have demonstrated improvement in the last three tournaments with a 1st place and two 2nd place finishes. Immortals had a comparatively better 1st stage but have witnessed a gradual yet consistent deterioration in their performance ever since. At the time of writing, their roster has only one member - a sign for the organization’s departure from the scene.

After this change, the Pittsburgh Knights roster is as follows:

Canada Damion "XXiF" Cook United States Ashton "Frosty" Rakoske United States Joseph Seungmin "ban" Oh United States Logan "skuba" Jenkins Mongolia Amgalan "Genghsta" Nemekhbayar
