Red Bull announces global university competition Campus Clutch
Red Bull have revealed a global university VALORANT competition, Red Bull Campus Clutch. The event is the biggest university esports has ever been and sees them partner directly with Riot Games.
In the event, student teams will take part in 3 phases: the Qualifier, National Finals, and World Final. Qualifiers are set to begin in February and continue to the end of May. National champions will win a “cutting-edge gaming hub for their university”, and a spot at the World Final, where the victors will take home €20,000 and a trip to a VALORANT Masters event.
University and college competition has been key to the ecosystem of traditional sports, and with the topic increasingly coming up in the esports space, especially in regards to League of Legends, it seems to be the perfect time for such a large, prestigious competition to take place in the space.
