According to the latest report by George Geddes, NRG Esports are looking to sign the OpTic core to their roster for the upcoming VCT season. However, the names he has mentioned in his report do not include Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker which might mean that he might be separated from the roster and as per our recent article potentially sign with Cloud9.

When the teams selected for Riot Partner program in the Americas league had been announced, a vast majority of the fans were left shocked because several reputable organizations had failed to earn a spot and will miss out on competing next year despite exceptional performances during previous VCT seasons. Amongst the teams whose requests had been denied was OpTic, which was arguably among the top three teams in the world consistently throughout the current season.

Although the NRG roster that played VCT 2022 had a better season than their 2021 counterparts, it wasn’t even close to OpTic’s run. In fact, NRG failed to qualify for either of the International events and couldn’t break 3rd-4th place in the Main Events.

NRG’s roster remained intact following the news of being accepted into the Partner Program but the community was anticipating major roster changes and the announcements of entering Free Agency from Ian "tex" Botsch, Ethan "Ethan" Arnold and Daniel "eeiu" Vucenovic proved the fans right and further support the possibility of OpTic’s core and Head Coach joining the team.

Yay and Marved both had a significant impact on the team’s performance, but the contributions of the remaining members cannot be overlooked especially FNS, who has been the driving force as the team’s IGL since ENVY days. If this report stands the test of time, NRG roster should be as follows:

Canada Daniel "eeiu" Vucenovic United States Austin "crashies" Roberts United States Victor "Victor" Wong United States Pujan "FNS" Mehta

United States Chet "Chet" Singh (Head Coach)
