Sengoku Gaming welcome a VALORANT team
Sengoku Gaming is the next Japanese organization that decided to enter the VALORANT esports scene. The Fukuoka-based organization that promotes themselves with a slogan “From Fukuoka to the World” has streamers and content creator under its wings as well as teams in multiple games such as PUBG, Gran Turismo, and League of Legends that participated in the official League of Legends Japan League (LJL).
The Japanese organization decided to acquire players with various experiences when it comes to competitive gaming including Shotaro “Zerost” Ikeda, Akihiro “Aktm” Kushida and Ryoto “himajun” Takeuchi.
Ikeda was playing League of Legends professionally in the past. In 2017 he has won the Spring Split of LJL as a member of DetonatioN FocusMe. Zerost was associated with Sengoku Gaming a few years ago when he has played for their League of Legends squad at the beginning of 2018. From January 2020, Zerost was signed as a streamer of his current organization. Besides his long history in the Riot Games’ MOBA, he was also active in S.K.I.L.L. - Special Force 2. Akihiro “Aktm” Kushida is an experienced former Overwatch player. In 2017, he participated in the Overwatch World Cup Sydney Qualifier as a part of the national team of Japan. He placed on the 3rd/4th position after losing to the Team Australia 2:3. In 2018, Aktm was representing AKIHABARA ENCOUNT, and his esports career has started with playing Sudden Attack that was a popular FPS game in the Asian region. Ryoto “himajun” Takeuchi is a player that is familiar to the Japanese audience for many years. He started his esports journey with Counter-Strike 1.6 and then moved into CS:GO. Takeuchi played for a lot of organizations in Japan among others 4dimentioN eTROVE, and DetonatioN Gaming, and always stayed on the top of the competitive tournaments.
The last two members of the squad were revealed to be Kenichiro “flame” Sugimoto and Shoki “Pepper” Banjo. Sugimoto is a former Sudden Attack and CS:GO player and an ex-teammate of himajun during their days in 4dimentioN eTROVE. Shoki “Pepper” Banjo similar to Aktm was playing Overwatch competitively. As a part of Libalent Supreme, he participated in the second season of Overwatch Pacific Championship 2017 that was held in Taiwan. He has multiple victories under his belt, mostly in 2017.
