In the past few weeks, we have seen Arctic Gaming, S2V Esports, and Wygers sign VALORANT rosters, adding to the Spanish domestic competitive scene. The latest to join them is Movistar Riders, by signing SICKO MODE.

The roster consists of Javier "dragunov" Sánchez, Carlos Enrique "scarx" Sánchez, Vladyslav "kiles" Shvets, Cristian "doAm" Ribeiro, and Jose Luis "koldamenta" Aranguren. The former Sicko Mode squad competed in the Desafío Legión, and got 2nd place, losing to GIANTX in the finals. Movistar Riders decided to pick up the roster, and they are currently competing in both the Legion Defiance Cup and LVP - Genesis Cup Viento.

Everyone except Jose Luis "koldamenta" Aranguren are former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive professional players, while the retired Spanish player was a former PLAYERUNKOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS professional. He placed 8th in the PGS: Berlin Europe Finals, 6th in the PUBG Europe League Contenders 2019 Phase 2, 5th in the PUBG Europe League 2019 Kick-off Cup, and won the FACEIT Sunday Cup EU 6.

As for Javier "dragunov" Sánchez, he was a former member of the Movistar Riders’ Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team, in addition to tenures with MAD Lions and KPI. He won the Moche XL Esports Iberia Qualifier, then placed 5th-6th in the Moche XL Esports tournament. In addition to that, he finished 3rd-4th in the Superliga Orange Finals 2019 and 22nd in the ESEA MDL Season 28 Europe.

Cristian "doAm" Ribeiro and Vladyslav "kiles" Shvets competed in the DreamHack Valencia 2016 and WESG 2017 Iberia respectively. Last but not least, Carlos Enrique "scarx" Sánchez enjoyed a relatively successful CS:GO career, winning the ESEA Season 29: Open Division Spain, ESL Masters España 2018 Season 3, ESL Masters España 2018 Season 3 Group Stage, and placed 7th-8th in the ESL Masters España Season 7.

With the European First Strike qualifiers fast approaching, and the first one of them happening in November, how far do you think will Movistar Riders can go?

The current Movistar Riders VALORANT roster consists of:

Spain Javier "dragunov" Sánchez Venezuela Carlos Enrique "scarx" Sánchez Spain Cristian "doAm" Ribeiro Spain Jose Luis "koldamenta" Aranguren Ukraine Vladyslav "kiles" Shvets
