VCT 2022 - EMEA - Stage 1 - Challengers - Main Event was very unsuccessful for SuperMassive Blaze. They lost all their matches in the group phase, winning just one map against Guild Esports. This means that the next split will most likely be played in VRL - Turkey: Birlik - Stage 2 - Main Event, which is certainly quite a disappointment for this team. The poor results in recent months were the reason why SMB decided to make a change in their roster. On April 14 Caner "CyderX" Demir, who represented the Turkish organization for the last six months, was officially moved to the bench. According to sources, his replacement is to be Emir "Alfajer" Ali Beder, who recently played for Surreal Esports, which won the VRL - Turkey: Birlik - Stage 1 - Main Event.
Thanks to that they were also able to play in the VCT Promotion Tournament, where the 16-year-old played excellently and showed himself to a wider audience. However, after the defeat against BIG in the Lower Final, Surreal decided to disband and the players of that team are already individually looking for a new home. SMB is supposed to be the one for Alfajer, which seems to be a great move for both sides.
