Start dates revealed for most VALORANT Challengers regions
Riot Games have promised big things for VALORANT in 2021, including a whole slate of tournaments run by them divided into Challenger, Master, and Champions tiers. Today, Riot have released the start dates for most VALORANT Challengers events across the world.
Latin America will be the first to start, beginning on January 26th, and will be quickly followed by Korea and Brazil beginning on the 30th. North America and Southeast Asia will start up in the early days of February - the third and the fifth respectively - while the last batch of regions includes the CIS, Europe, and Turkey beginning on February 11th. The start dates for Japan and MENA are not yet known.
The Challengers events will qualify teams for Masters-level events. It will likely function similarly to the qualifying process teams went through for First Strike, giving us an outline of what to expect. Riot’s aiming to have Masters events be on LAN, but it is likely that at least the first ones will have to be online, regional competitions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mark your calendars: high-level competitive VALORANT, supported by Riot, with every team participating, will soon be back.
