Team Vitality officially join the VALORANT scene

After nearly a month of leaks and rumours, Team Vitality have officially announced their entrance into the VALORANT scene.

Vitality’s roster consists of Ouali "M4CHINA" Manset, Vakaris "vakk" Bebravičius, Jokūbas "ceNder" Labutis, Lukas "feqew" Petrauskas, Bayram "Bramz" Ben Redjeb, and coach Andrey “fragon” Katz. Four of the players have their background in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, while vakk comes from PLAYERUNKNOWN’s Battlegrounds. In VALORANT, though, each has found new life.

vakk, feqew, and Cender are all part of a surprisingly large wave of Lithuanian players that have been looking to make it big in VALORANT. In fact, this has culminated in the oddity of Team Vitality being a majority-Lithuanian team. vakk was the first and most successful - throughout 2020 with nolpenki, he became known as one of Europe’s most dangerous Jett/Operator players, before switching to an entry fragger role when nolpenki moved to an international lineup. Eventually, the year culminated in a First Strike appearance for the orgless team. feqew and Cender burst onto the scene with eXiLe eSports, nearly qualifying for First Strike and making deep runs in other events such as the LVP - Genesis Cup Visión. bramz, meanwhile, has spent most of his time bouncing around French orgless teams such as FeaFeaFea and Opportunists, while M4CHINA made a surprise First Strike appearance with Purple Cobras.

Roles should be one of the most interesting things to watch play out: bramz, M4CHINA, and at one point vakk have all been primarily Jett players, so who takes the role long-term will define the roster. They’ve already played together under the name FrenzyGoKill, where vakk took the Jett, bramz smokes, M4CHINA Sova, and feqew and Cender played supportive roles.

Team Vitality certainly have a quality roster under their belt, but can they challenge the best teams in Europe? We’ll find out in the upcoming Stage 1 of the VALORANT Champions Tour.
