We first heard about PAX Arena VALORANT Invitational a couple of weeks ago as part of the three additional tournaments announced by Riot Games as part of their Ignition Series program. PAX Arena VALORANT Invitational features 16 professional VALORANT teams directly invited to the competition, in addition to 4 squads formed from content creators and influencers. All of the 20 teams participating want a piece of the $25,000 USD prize pool, and we will get to know who is crowned the winner between July 22nd, 2020, and July 26th, 2020, live streamed on the PAXArena Twitch channel.

The fierce competition present in the North American VALORANT esports scene guarantees an exciting and tight matches all throughout the tournament. TSM arguably hold the crown for the region, considering they won the only A-tier Ignition Series event, T1 x NSG Showdown. T1’s roster managed to come in second place as well, proving themselves as a contender for PAX Arena VALORANT Invitational.

On the other hand, both Echo 8 and Prospects came through the Nerd Street Gamers Qualifiers to compete in PAX Arena VALORANT Invitational. They both managed to finish within the 13-16th positions. It is definitely not the most impressive result for Echo 8 as they were invited but still relatively an accomplishment for Prospects when compared to the caliber of competition they came up against after going through the qualifiers. As time passes, they will definitely gain more experience and be able to pull their weight against the top organizations.

PAX Arena VALORANT Invitational gives us another opportunity to evaluate the 100 Thieves roster, an intriguing team to say the least that have the potential and performed tremendously well in T1 x NSG Showdown finishing 5th. This will be our first time to see the newly acquired Code7 roster play under the Built By Gamers organization. They managed to surprise us with a few outstanding performances, giving T1 a run for their money in the T1 x NSG Showdown.

For the influencers, 100 Blifted matches Tyler “Ninja” Blevins with content creators and influencers. He already proved his skill is up there against the best VALORANT players around, when he gave the community a run for their money during EsportsDoug x eUnited Charity Clash and finished in 6th place.
