Triumph form a VALORANT squad
The up and coming organization Triumph announced that they were putting together a VALORANT roster. The team has a history in Apex Legends, Call of Duty, CS:GO, and now they want to add another FPS to their portfolio. The roster is interesting, as most of the players hail from the Overwatch scene.
General Manager of Triumph, Shawn “Rusto” Bischoff, spoke to THESPIKE.GG on the direction he had from the start for building this team: “I chose to build this roster from a pool of players from a game I was most familiar with. I worked for 3 years directly in Overwatch so it was natural for me to look at top Overwatch talent first.”
Triumph’s new roster starts off with Kyle “Kappo” Koeller and Derrek “Derrek” Ha, who played together in the semi-pro scene. Then we continue to Kelden “Boostio” Pupello, Robert “Romanov” Shepard, and Seth “Teka” Kim who all have extensive backgrounds in the semi-professional scene of Overwatch. The outlier would be Matthew “Roobean” Markulis who has had time in the CS:GO scene. Matthew “Precision” Cannon will take the position of head coach.
“Personally I am very interested in being involved in VALORANT esports long-term because I believe the game will do very well and be popular at a high level. I moved to build a VALORANT roster quickly because I would like to be involved in the game's scene from inception,” continues Bishoff.
Many other organizations are starting to take note that it will pay off to get in the VALORANT scene early. Triumph is a notable name so we will see how they do in this already thriving esport.
Triumph roster consists of:
Kyle “Kappo” Koeller Derrek “Derrek” Ha Kelden “Boostio” Pupello Robert “Romanov” Shepard Seth “Teka” Kim Matthew “Roobean” Markulis
Matthew “Precision” Cannon (Coach)
