First up, a quick look at Gemint

If you happen to collect Pokemon trading cards, you’ll want to know more about Gemint. While the site has only recently launched, it already looks promising. Basically, it’s a trading card site where you can buy mystery packs and then rip them (Gemint will do it virtually online for you) to see what you get inside.

Currently, Gemint has two categories in its menu – Pokemon and soccer – although I didn’t see any soccer trading card packs available to buy there when I signed up to have a closer look. Gemint has also added two more categories for baseball cards and One Piece cards, which they’ve marked as Coming Soon.

What can you do when you get a trading card?

Depending on the actual contents of a pack when it’s been opened, you can figure out what you’d like to do next:

• You can keep it in your online inventory
• You can sell it back to Gemint at 90% of the current fair market value (you’ll also pay a 3% fee)
• You can ask them to mail it to you (this incurs mailing fees)

Note the FMV lettering next to the info for each pack at Gemint, which stands for Fair Market Value. If you decide to keep a card, Gemint safely stores it for you until you decide what to do with it. You’ll also have a digital version that you can see in your inventory – and you can access that inside your profile.

I wished I’d timed how long it took to create my account at Gemint because I honestly think it was in seconds rather than minutes. It’s quick and easy, and I’ll give them top marks for its simplicity.

1. Click one of my links to visit Gemint

2. Click on the signup/login link in the top right of the Gemint website

3. Enter your email in the popup screen

4. You can sign up via your Google account if you prefer

5. If you choose email, enter the six-digit confirmation code Gemint will send you

6. Once you’ve entered that code on the Gemint website, you’re done

I waited mere seconds to get the email, and once I’d entered the code, I was inside my new Gemint account, ready to explore.

Three steps to collect your Gemint coupon

Verifying your email address is easy – and it’s the first of three steps you must complete if you want to claim your $10 coupon from Gemint. Once you’re signed in, look for the Coupon option at the bottom of the menu on the left hand side of their website.

1. Do you need to connect to X and Discord to claim your bonus?

Yes, you do need to connect to both, along with verifying your email address, to claim your bonus. It’s useful to connect to their Discord community anyway though, as Gemint has added a brief FAQ there, and you can get in touch with the team should you have any issues or queries.

2. Will Gemint offer other promos for existing users?

They may do – and I think it’ll be good to be part of the Discord community in this sense. There’s no guarantee they’ll offer any special codes or deals there, of course, but since the Gemint website doesn’t have a promotions area at present, it’s worth checking there occasionally just to see if anything pops up.

3. Can you sign up to Gemint from anywhere in the world?

You can certainly sign up from most places, and Gemint is widely available across the US, too. I’d suggest reading their terms and conditions (something you should do before joining), as those have a section covering this topic, including any countries Gemint is not currently available in.
