A quick overview of how Packs.com works

Packs.com is a popular pack-opening platform that launched in 2025. Rather than purchasing packs directly with cash, Packs.com uses a virtual currency called Coins, with 1 Coin equal to $1. You can use Coins to open mystery packs online, then choose to have your cards shipped to you, sell unwanted pulls back for Coins, or keep them stored in your Backpack.

What can you rip on Packs.com?

Packs.com focuses exclusively on TCG cards, including Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, and Riftbound.

Like OpenThatPack, it doesn’t offer sports cards or other non-gaming collectibles.

There are two main categories of packs available to rip on Packs.com: Real Packs and Single Pulls.

Real Packs

Real Packs are Packs.com’s multi-card option. Each pack contains either 10 or 15 cards, drawn from sets of 198 and 642 cards, respectively.

The name can be a little misleading. I initially assumed these were original, factory-sealed Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, or other TCG packs, but that isn’t the case.

Don’t worry, the cards are fully authentic. Just keep in mind that these are Packs.com’s own repackaged selections, not factory-sealed packs from the original manufacturers.

Single Pulls

Single Pulls are, as the name suggests, packs that contain just one card. Each typically draws from a pool of around 40 possible cards, ranging from lower-value pulls to the most valuable trading cards.

I particularly like that many Single Pulls are built around specific themes, giving you more control over the types of cards you’re chasing.

For example, the “I Choose You” packs focus on individual characters such as Charizard and Pikachu, while the “Best Of” range features packs dedicated to different eras, including Sword & Shield and Scarlet & Violet.

Coins and prices

One of the more unique aspects of Packs.com is its virtual currency system. Rather than buying packs directly with cash, you first purchase Coins, which you can then use to buy and rip packs. The conversion is straightforward, with one Coin equal to $1, making it easy to see how much each pack costs.Coins and prices

There’s a good range of price points to choose from. As you’d expect, Single Pulls tend to offer the cheapest entry point since they contain just one card.

Many are priced below 5 Coins, while more expensive options can cost around 500 Coins. Real Packs generally start at around 5-10 Coins per pack, while the most expensive options can cost up to 1,000 Coins.

Pull odds and transparency

One area where Packs.com performs particularly well is transparency. Every pack clearly shows which cards you could win, their value in Coins, and the exact odds of pulling each one.

You can also open packs in demo mode, allowing you to experience a pack opening without spending any Coins.

What really stands out, though, is Packs.com’s provably fair system. It allows you to verify the fairness of each round using hash codes, giving you confidence that the results haven’t been rigged or manipulated.

Types of cards you can pull on Packs.com

While Packs.com is exclusively focused on TCGs, there’s plenty of variety across the four card games currently available.

Product typeAvailableSelection
PokémonTemporal Forces, Prismatic Evolutions, Black Bolt & White Flare, character-focused pulls & more
Magic: The GatheringCommander Masters, Tarkir: Dragonstorm, Edge of Eternities, Lorwyn Eclipsed, Final Fantasy & more
One PieceSet-based & character-focused cards, including Emperors in the New World and Tony Tony Choppe
RiftboundLeague of Legends TCG cards, including Unleashed and themed Single Pulls
Sports cardsNot available

Unfortunately, there are no sports cards available. If that’s what you’re interested in, you may prefer Topps Ripped.

What can you do with your cards on Packs.com?

Once you’ve opened a pack, the cards you pull are added to your “Backpack.” Think of it as your personal inventory, where you can view and manage everything you’ve pulled.

From there, you have a few options for what to do with each card. You can have it shipped to you, sell it back to Packs.com for Coins, or keep it in your Backpack. What you can do with your cards

Ship your cards

Packs.com uses the classic “rip and ship” model, so if you pull a card you’ve been chasing, you can have it shipped directly to your home. Delivery typically takes between two and four weeks.

The important thing to know is that you must request shipping within 24 hours of opening the pack. After that window, Packs.com is under no obligation to ship the card, and your request will likely be denied.

Sell cards back for Coins

We’ve all been there. You rip a pack, watch the cards flip over, and end up with something you have absolutely no interest in keeping. That’s fairly common with Real Packs, where you’re pulling several cards at once.

Fortunately, Packs.com lets you sell unwanted cards back for Coins. You can then use those Coins to rip another pack and try your luck at pulling something more desirable.

Keep cards in your Backpack

If you’re not ready to make a decision straight away, you can simply leave your cards in your Backpack. I think this is a useful feature, especially since you won’t pay any storage fees and your cards don’t expire after a set period.

The inactivity policy is reasonable too. Your account is only considered inactive if you haven’t logged in for 24 months, at which point a $1 monthly fee may apply. After three to five years of inactivity, your stored cards may eventually be sold back to Packs.com, but you’re given plenty of time to avoid that happening.

Coin purchases and payment methods

Packs.com supports a solid range of payment methods for purchasing Coins.

All major credit and debit cards are accepted, including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. You can also pay via bank transfer (ACH), Apple Pay, Google Pay, or PayPal. Cryptocurrencies are supported too, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, USD Coin, Tron, and Litecoin.

There’s also plenty of flexibility when it comes to how many Coins you can buy. Packs.com offers several pre-built packages, but you’re not limited to just those options. You can enter a custom amount instead, starting from just 1 Coin.

One feature I particularly like is the Shipping Token system. You receive a Shipping Token for every 100 Coins you purchase, which you can put towards the cost of shipping cards you’ve pulled.

Bonuses and promotions at Packs.com

There aren’t as many bonuses and promotions at Packs.com as I would have liked to see, but there are still a couple of offers worth claiming. You’ll get a free pack when you sign up, with additional rewards available through the referral program.

Here’s a closer look at how each of these promotions works:

The welcome bonus

The welcome bonus is easily the highlight for me. You’ll get a free pack as soon as you create your account. No Packs.com promo code is required – just sign up through the banner link on this page.

Unlike some sites that give every new user the same free pack, Packs.com lets you choose which one you open. You can pick a Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, or One Piece pack, depending on which game you prefer.

The referral program

When someone signs up using your referral code, you receive a 5% bonus on a purchase, capped at 100 Coins per day. You’ll also receive an ongoing commission of 0.5% on every purchase made by each of your referrals.

The recurring commission is what I like most here. It might not seem like much on its own, but if you refer a lot of users who regularly purchase Coins, those commissions can add up quickly.

Another feature I like is the ability to create your own unique referral code. It’s a small detail, but it means you can create something that’s easy to remember.

Website design and user experience

One of the first things I noticed about Packs.com was its polished design. The dark theme, clean layout, and vibrant pack artwork come together to create a sleek look and feel.

Finding the packs you’re interested in is straightforward. Real Packs and Single Pulls are separated into dedicated tabs, while each of the four TCGs has its own category. There are also plenty of ways to narrow down the selection.

Packs can be filtered by price range in Coins and sorted by value, popularity, or release date. There’s also a search bar for finding something specific, and you can use the star icon to add packs to your list of favorites.

I also enjoyed the pack-opening experience itself. You actually tear open the top of the virtual pack, which feels clean and surprisingly satisfying.

My experience with Packs.com’s customer support

If you need help while using Packs.com, you can reach out via live chat.

One thing I particularly like is that the live chat is operated by real human support agents. You won’t have to deal with any bots or automated responses before speaking to someone.

When an agent is online, response times are pretty quick. During my testing, I typically received a reply within a few minutes.

The main downside is availability. There were times when I checked and no agents were available, and there aren’t any published support hours to tell you when someone will be online.

I actually asked Packs.com about this. They said that there’s no exact schedule for when someone will be available, but once they are, they’ll reply as quickly as possible.

Is Packs.com safe and legit?

When it comes to safety and legitimacy, Packs.com ticks all the right boxes.

The site uses SSL encryption to protect sensitive information, including payment details and passwords. You can also enable two-factor authentication (2FA) in your profile settings, adding an extra layer of security to your account.

As for the cards, they’re fully authentic and verified, with Packs.com sourcing them from trusted third-party marketplaces. Every pack opening also uses provably fair technology, so you can independently verify each result and confirm that the outcome was generated fairly.

Packs.com review summary

I had a great time reviewing Packs.com. There’s a good mix of Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, and Riftbound cards, with plenty of packs available at different price points.

I like that you can see all the potential cards and pull odds for each pack. You can also test pack openings in demo mode before deciding whether to buy.

The provably fair system is another big plus, as you can verify the result of each pack opening yourself.

The main downside is the lack of non-TCG packs, particularly sports cards like Topps football, Panini NBA and NFL, or baseball cards. The 24-hour window to request shipping is also fairly restrictive and worth keeping in mind.

Overall, though, I think it’s a great choice if you enjoy opening TCG packs online. And since you can get started with a free pack, there’s no reason not to try it out.

Just click the banner link on this page to sign up, choose your free pack, and give it a rip.
