Phygitals isn’t like your regular mystery box site, as it deals in collectible trading cards, like Pokémon TCG, Yu-Gi-Oh!, sports trading cards, and more. Out of curiosity, I conducted a Phygitals review to learn more and share my experience.

One of Phygitals’ impressive features is that you can send your own physical card to the site to be digitized and sold on its marketplace. Before I eventually joined the site, I wanted to know if Phygitals was legitimate and whether I could easily get help when I had a question. This review will address these points and more.

How does Phygitals work?

Phygitals is a digital and physical mystery box site specializing in collectible trading cards. Unlike sites that offer luxury goods, electronics, or fashion items, Phygitals gives you access to a sealed mystery pack containing digital collectibles, such as Pokémon TCG, Yu-Gi-Oh!, sports trading cards, Riftbound, One Piece, and Dragon Ball.

The packs are available at different price levels and contain trading cards selected by a provably fair algorithm. Once the pack is ripped, you can verify the outcome of the pull and decide what to do with it. Phygitals gives you the option to keep the digital card in your collection. Alternatively, you can trade or sell it on the marketplace.

If you like the card, you can have it shipped to you. Phygitals also offers an instant buyback option, where the site buys the card back from you immediately for a price. This option may be the best for some collectors because you get paid immediately, instead of waiting for someone to buy the card from you on the marketplace.

However, there’s a downside. The instant buyback price may be lower than what you could get by selling on the marketplace, especially if it’s a rare pull. In my experience, the buyback option has a 30-minute window after the pack is opened, and the pack tier determines the rate.

Other features that make Phygitals different from a regular mystery box site

Out of all the mystery box sites I’ve reviewed, there were four things about Phygitals that I haven’t seen anywhere. These are the features that impressed me about Phygitals, and here’s why:

🎉 Pack Parties

Pack parties are Phygitals’ social feature, which allows collectors to host live, multiplayer pack-opening events where they open packs together. Some collectors organize pack-sharing events using cards from their own collection. The host of the pack party will select 2 to 8 cards from their collection and set an entry price.

Once all the slots for the event are filled, the selected cards will be distributed randomly among everyone who joined. The pack party fee is only refunded if the slots aren’t filled before the event expires.

🛒 Peer-to-Peer Marketplace

Phygitals offers a peer-to-peer marketplace where collectors can buy and sell cards to each other. Let’s assume you pull a rare card you don’t want to keep.

You can put the card up for sale on the marketplace, choose the asking price, and wait for others to show interest. Phygitals charges a fee only on completed sales.

💸 Pawn and Lending

With this feature, you can borrow up to 50% of the Fair Market Value (FMV) of an eligible graded card, using your stored card as collateral. Each eligible card must have an estimated market price of at least $26. The minimum loan amount is $13, while the maximum is $5,000.

If you qualify, you can take a short-term loan, and Phygitals will temporarily hold the card. Ownership will be transferred back to you after you repay the loan and interest, which is based on the loan amount. During my Phygitals review, I learned that only graded cards stored in the site’s vault are used as collateral.

📬 Card Submission

This is probably my favorite feature on Phygitals. It allows you to send your physical trading card to the site, where it’ll first be checked for authenticity and condition. The process usually takes two days.

After that, a digital version of the card is created in your account. You can sell, trade, use it as collateral, or store it in the site’s vault.

Sign-up bonus for new Phygitals collectors

Phygitals doesn’t have a standard welcome reward for new collectors yet; that was what the customer support chatbot told me. The only existing Phygitals bonus for new collectors is reserved for those who pre-downloaded the app before it launched. Collectors who are eligible for the promised free packs will receive them as soon as the site is done rolling out its app. However, the site has ongoing offers, including a referral program, user revenue share, and weekly giveaways. You can find out more about these offers in my Phyigitals bonus review.

Phygitals has dedicated iOS and Android apps

During my Phygitals review, I found two ways to access the site: either through the app or the website. The app is available for both iOS and Android devices and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, respectively.

Mind you, the app is currently in a soft-launch phase, which means it’s live but still being updated with new features. Since the app is new, customer support says it will include app-exclusive features. But if you don’t want to use the app, you can still access Phygitals through the website on your desktop or mobile browser.

Rip cards on Phygitals’ intuitive and functional website

When you access Phygitals using your mobile browser, the first thing you’ll notice is the simplicity. At the top of the screen, I found a plus button, which showed my wallet balance, and my account profile was right next to it.

When I clicked it, I saw features like Lending, Inventory, Offers, Vault Cards, Refer & Earn, and more. The black-and-white background and text drew my attention to the different packs on display.

There’s a sliding banner showing colorful packs, and below it, you’ll find the pack catalog, including Pokémon, Basketball, Football, One Piece, Baseball, and Yu-Gi-Oh. Clicking View Pack revealed the different pack levels and prices.

Scrolling down, I passed the weekly leaderboard and live pull sections until I got to the footer. In the footer, I found links to customer support, terms, social media accounts, and marketplace. The tabs opened with one click, and the pages loaded fast.

Customer support at Phygitals

One of the features I look out for before joining sites like Phygitals is responsive customer support. When I checked, I found that the site has separate email addresses for legal inquiries and general support.

For a site like Phygitals, live chat is important, and thankfully the site didn’t disappoint. I couldn’t chat with a human agent because I was told they aren’t available on weekends and holidays. However, I chatted with the bot, named Ash, and I got a satisfactory response to my questions, including links for further reading.

Phygitals also has one of the most comprehensive Frequently Asked Questions sections I have seen on similar mystery box sites. Most of the questions I could have asked a customer support agent via live chat were handled. It featured articles on how Phygitals works, the marketplace, storage, lending, payments, security, and more.

Accepted payment methods at Phygitals

Before you start ripping packs or purchasing items on Phygitals’ marketplace, it’s important to know how to fund your account and make withdrawals. From what I found, Phygitals accepts debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, and selected cryptocurrencies, including USDC and Tether (USDT).

You can withdraw funds from your wallet in two ways. The first is through bank withdrawal. To begin, go to your Profile, choose Withdraw Funds, then Bank Withdrawal, and follow the instructions. The USDC in your wallet will be converted to cash and sent to your bank account within 1 to 3 days, depending on bank processing.

Another option is to withdraw directly to an external wallet. Go to Wallet, select Withdraw, and follow the prompts. Usually, withdrawals using this method go through in seconds depending on crypto network conditions, but remember you need to verify your account to withdraw in the first place.

Is Phygitals safe and legit?

After spending time on Phygitals opening packs and testing the features, I can confirm that the site is indeed legitimate.

Phygitals is owned by Phygitals Inc., which is headquartered in Delaware, United States. Based on what I observed during my Phygitals review, the site seems to comply with US tax laws and privacy requirements, which is reassuring. The site uses blockchain technology to match digital collectibles to existing physical trading cards stored in its vault, making it easy to verify ownership and track transaction history.

The site also says its physical cards are securely kept in a professional vault facility in the US owned by its partners, including Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), Fanatics, and Alt. Through its partners, all cards in its possession are insured against theft, loss, or damage. Even if it were to shut down, Phygitals says it has put measures in place to return physical cards in its custody to their rightful owners within three months.

Security-wise, Phygitals requires Know Your Customer (KYC) verification before requesting card shipping. You can also set up two-factor authentication to provide extra security for your account.

Conclusion – Pull sports cards, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Pokémon TCG cards at Phygitals

I had fun reviewing Phygitals, and that comes from how the site is structured. To a great extent, Phygitals is different from most digital and physical mystery box sites I checked out in the past. Besides having a physical version of every digital card pulled, the site gives you many options after every rip, including storing, selling, trading, or requesting shipment.

When I created my account, I didn’t receive a welcome bonus, but Phygitals has several promotions, including a referral program, user revenue share, and weekly giveaways. The site has a mobile app, but you can still use your browser. To reach support, you can use email or live chat. When it’s time to fund your account, you can use debit/credit cards, Apple Pay, or crypto. Click the banners on this page to sign up at Phygitals and start pulling popular cards.
