There is no universal Polymarket referral code or link, it’s something that’s unique to each Polymarket member. You’ll be able to access your code/link after you’ve opened an account at Polymarket, and completed the necessary verification steps.
You won’t be able to collect referral rewards immediately, as there’s a substantial trading requirement you must achieve first. However, as a new trader, you’ll still be eligible for the Polymarket sign up bonus, which will give you $25 of site credit, when you’ve traded just $10 worth of event contracts. Plus, you’ll enjoy lower fees for selected prediction markets.
Our main Polymarket review mentioned the brand’s referral program briefly, but this guide will explain it in more detail. It’s an important feature of the platform that many new traders may not be aware of, as Polymarket doesn’t openly advertise or display it.
As with most programs of this type, you’ll need to share a unique link, which your friends must use when they register. You’ll find your Polymarket referral link by going to your account dashboard. From there you’ll be able to copy it and send it to your friends or add it by using the ‘Share’ button you’ll find for each event.
The rewards you’ll receive are commission-based and are calculated using each referral’s net trading fees. Unlike most similar programs, Polymarket adds any commission due to you on a daily basis. Furthermore, the program extends beyond those who sign up using your Polymarket referral link, which are known as ‘direct referrals’.
You’ll also receive rewards for indirect referrals too, which are users who have signed up using a link provided by a person you originally referred. The rewards for each referral level are currently as follows:
As you might expect, for such a generous program there are some terms and conditions in place:
There’s nothing to stop you from sharing your Polymarket referral link as soon as you’ve signed up. However, you won’t start receiving any of the rewards we described above until you have achieved a $10,000 lifetime trading volume.
In addition, each referral must use your referral link at the time of registration, it cannot be applied later if they forget. They must also complete KYC verification, and trade at least $10 of event contracts within 30 days.
This part is quite important, as failure to comply can have serious consequences. As we mentioned, you can share your link on as many event contract pages as you wish. Polymarket also allows you to share your referral link via your social media accounts.
However, the one thing that is strictly forbidden, is dropping your link in the user chat. Doing so can result in being banned from the chat, and/or removed from the referral program completely.
We discussed the Polymarket referral program first, because that’s what you came here to find out about. But as you’ve seen, you will need to trade a substantial amount of event contracts before you’ll see any rewards.
The first tangible Polymarket bonus you’ll come across is the brand’s sign up offer for new traders, which is easy to claim and use. When your new Polymarket account has been approved, you’ll need to make a deposit of at least $10, and then purchase at least $10 worth of event contracts.
Once all of the contracts have been settled, you’ll receive $25 of bonus credit. There are no restrictions on how you use the bonus, as all events on the Polymarket app are eligible. However, you must use the bonus within 30 days of receiving it, after which time any unused credit will be removed from your account.
As things stand, US traders can only access prediction markets by downloading the Polymarket app. Both iOS and Android versions are available from the main Polymarket website, or from the App Store, or Google Play respectively.
You don’t need to concern yourself with the states where Polymarket is legal, all you need to know is that it’s available to US traders who are at least 18 years old, and able to pass KYC verification. For the latter you will need to provide your SSN and upload an official ID document.
The prediction markets available on the app are confined to sports events only, at least for the moment. However, this is likely to change in the future, as the brand plans to roll out other categories too.
From what we were able to establish, those are likely to include Polymarket election markets, plus event contracts for entertainment, economics, and possibly climate.
Where some prediction market sites apply fees when you purchase an event contract, Polymarket fees are not deducted until the official outcome is confirmed and the event is resolved. In addition, fees are only applied to successful contracts.
At the time of writing, the following fees are applicable:
| Sport | Fees per contract | Max. fees per 100 contracts |
|---|---|---|
| NFL and college football | $0.03 | $0.75 |
| All other sports | $0.05 | $1.25 |
We mentioned right at the start of this guide, that selected Polymarket event contracts are available with lower fees, and that currently applies to all NFL and college football prediction markets.
For now at least you will only pay $0.03 per successful contract, or a maximum of $0.75 per 100 contracts. If you are trading with tight margins, although this concession seems small on paper, it can make a big difference to your potential profit over the longer term.
Although using your Polymarket referral link won’t reap rewards until you’ve traded $10,000 worth of event contracts, that’s not the only promotion available for US traders. The first is a sign up offer where you can collect $25 of site credit when you trade $10.
You’ll also enjoy lower fees when you trade event contracts for any NFL or college football markets. In terms of other sports, there are eight major sports to choose from, each with various leagues, and a good selection of markets that go beyond event outcomes. We’d certainly recommend exploring Polymarket yourself, and to help you with that, we’ve added a link to the brand’s website on the banners of this page.
If you are asking as an existing Polymarket member, you’ll find your referral link in your Account Dashboard. If you have yet to sign up at Polymarket, you’ll find referral links that have been shared ready to use on most event contract pages.
Although you will need to achieve a lifetime trading volume of $10,000 first, the referral rewards you’ll receive thereafter are very generous. You’ll get 30% commission based on each direct referral’s net trading fees, and 10% for each indirect referral.
As a new trader you can claim $25 of trading credit as soon as you’ve traded at least $10 of event contracts. You’ll also get a concessionary fee rate for all NFL, or college football prediction markets. In addition, once you’ve reached a $10,000 trading volume, you’ll be eligible to receive referral rewards.
