Sleeper Markets Review 2026: Sports Markets, Features, Pricing, and User Experience

Sleeper Markets is restricted in your area.
Details

Sleeper is a popular fantasy sports app, but its prediction market site, Sleeper Markets, is still relatively new to the scene. I’ve created this Sleeper Markets review to shed light on its operations, event contracts, and availability in US states.

The platform is regulated by the CFTC and features real sports events from 10+ major leagues like the NFL, NCAAF, NBA, MLB, and international soccer leagues. You can trade contracts for markets like the moneyline, spreads, and totals. Although I couldn’t find a sign-up bonus, there are several ways to fund your account, which I’ve explained in my review below.

An overview of how things work on Sleeper Markets

Sleeper Markets, also called Team Picks on the app, is a prediction market that lets you trade event contracts on real sports outcomes. The list of sports events is extensive, and covers major US leagues like the NFL, NCAAF, NBA, MLB, as well as international soccer leagues. Contracts are basically yes/no questions, and they usually have a price range of $0.01 to $0.99.

Let me give you a brief example of how this appears on the app.

  • Question: Will the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the New Orleans Saints in the Sunday game?
  • Yes contract – $0.60
  • No contract – $0.40

If you think the Steelers will take the Sunday game, you can buy Yes contracts at $0.60 each. The contract price isn’t set by Sleeper; it reflects the trading volumes on each side of this question. 60% of traders on this market believe that the Steelers will win the game, and the other 40% who hold the No contract at $0.40 don’t think they’ll win. The prices will keep going up and down as more traders join in, and once the outcome is settled, successful predictions get $1 per contract.

Sleeper Markets gives you a mobile-first trading experience

The Sleeper app already has a great reputation for fantasy sports, and I’m glad to say the addition of predictions markets did not take away from the mobile experience. You can download the app straight from the App Store or Google Play, but I found it easier to visit the desktop site first, and scan the QR code to get the app.

It should take you just a few minutes to set up the app on your device. If you don’t have an account, you can create one on the spot using your mobile number or email address. When you log in, you’ll find the main menu sitting at the bottom of the screen, with clear markers for the home tab, the fantasy tab, and your profile.

To access the prediction markets, you’ll first have to verify your identity. Just visit the settings option under your account profile, and tap on the identity verification option. This is also where the app checks your location to see if you live in a restricted state. Once this hurdle is cleared, you can browse through the available markets and find sports event contracts to trade.

Solid desktop site, but it won’t get you too far

The desktop site is a good place to start if you’re new to sports prediction markets. I found tons of useful articles in the Support Center that cover topics like intro to Sleeper Markets, market rules, deposits and withdrawals, KYC verification, and many others. It brings you up to speed on all the brand’s operations, and even has an option to sign up.

The actual prediction markets, however, sit in the mobile app only. This isn’t unusual, as I found the same arrangement when creating my Underdog prediction markets review. Before I could even fund my account, I was redirected to download the mobile app. This worked in my favor, since the mobile app is much easier to navigate.

Sports-only prediction markets on Sleeper

Seeing as Sleeper was initially a fantasy sports app, it didn’t surprise me that its prediction market only covers sports events. So if you’re interested in trading on other real world outcomes like politics and crypto, I’d recommend you check out my Robinhood prediction markets review for a detailed explanation on how those markets work.

10+ sports on Sleeper Markets

Now if your main interest is sports contracts, then you’ll be spoilt for choice on Sleeper Markets. The main markets are listed at the top of the “Team Picks” tab on the app, starting with live markets and other categories such as:

  • NFL
  • NBA
  • CFB
  • CBB
  • MLB
  • Soccer
  • NHL
  • WNBA
  • Golf
  • Tennis
  • Esports (CS2, LoL, Valorant. Dota 2)
  • Boxing
  • Motorsports

Tap on any of these categories to find out what events you can trade on. Naturally, the numbers vary from one category to the other. The NFL league, for instance, has hundreds of upcoming events in the next few months, which gives you more trading opportunities than, say, the Motorsports category.

Live, pre-game, and futures markets

Within each category, you can trade in live markets for games that are currently underway, futures markets where you pick the result of a championship or league, or pre-game markets which open in advance of the game. The contracts cover outcomes for the moneyline, spreads, totals, and even parlays for selected events.

Here’s an overview of what you’ll predict with each of these markets.

MarketWhat you predict
FuturesThe winning team of the season
MoneylineThe outright winner of a single game
SpreadWhich team will cover the winning margin
TotalsThe combined score at the end of a game
ParlaysSeveral outcomes combined into one contract

Reading price charts

Contract prices are not set in stone, which is why you need to keep a close eye on the probability charts. Once a market goes live, it stays open until the outcome is decided. Prices shift based on marketplace demand and supply on each side. If traders think one outcome is more likely than the other, they’ll trade higher volumes on that side and automatically push the price up. This can happen slowly in the weeks before a game, or very quickly which I mostly saw with live markets.

What happens after you buy contracts

The good thing about trading on Sleeper Markets is you don’t have to hold your contracts until the market resolves. If you find a valuable trading opportunity before then, go for it. Popular markets like NFL moneylines have plenty of traders who will take up your offer within a few minutes. That said, waiting for contracts to settle has its merits, the main one being you don’t get charged any fees.

Selling early

You can choose this option any time while the market is open. Let’s say you buy 100 “Yes” contracts for the Patriots to win against the Bears at $0.40 per contract, for $40 total. A few days before the game, an injury takes the star quarterback from the Bears lineup, and suddenly it seems almost certain that the Patriots will win. Just like that, the demand for “Yes” contracts goes up, pushing the price up to $0.85 per contract. At this point, you can easily find a buyer for your contracts to lock in that gain.

While this works well for markets with high trading activity, niche markets like props and parlays rarely have buyers waiting on the other side. You may have to wait longer to find someone who’ll match your price.

Waiting for settlement

Your other option is to wait for the market to resolve and collect your settlement. Your successful predictions will get you $1 per contract, and unsuccessful ones $0. So if you held your 100 “Yes” contracts from the previous example and the Patriots win, you’ll receive $100 total, which is a $60 overall profit. If they don’t win, you get nothing back and lose the $40 trading amount altogether.

A few exceptions

While the two options are very clearly laid out in the rulebook, I noticed a few exceptions that apply when the underlying sports events don’t go as planned. Nothing major, just something to be aware of so you’re not caught off-guard.

  • If a game is postponed but still played within the same week, contracts remain open and settle as usual
  • If a game is postponed for longer than a week, then contracts settle at the last fair market price prior to postponement
  • If a game is cancelled after 55+ minutes of play, contracts settle based on stats accumulated to that point
  • However, if it’s cancelled before 55 minutes of play, they settle at the last fair market price unless the outcome is very obvious
  • Unless a market specifies a time period, overtime contributes to the overall outcome

Trading fees apply

When trading contracts on Sleeper Markets, you’ll need to add a $0.02 fee per contract to the total transaction amount. Since the fee is constant, you can plan for it in advance. This is unlike the fee structure I found when doing my DraftKings Predictions review, which had me constantly revising my costs because it was pegged on the contract price.

Besides this small trading fee, I couldn’t find any other charges on the app. This means that you won’t pay a dime for holding your contracts, making deposits, or withdrawing money out of your wallet.

No promos yet for Sleeper Markets traders

So far, Sleeper Markets hasn’t put out a promo for new or existing traders. The only offer I found was for the fantasy sports section, where new players get a $20 sign-up bonus plus a 100% first deposit match of up to $100. It’s a solid bonus that you can easily claim without using a promo code, just know that you can’t carry it over to the prediction markets.

Other ongoing promos are also limited to Player Picks. For instance, there’s a tournament underway for this month, with a pool prize of $10,000 up for grabs by the top 100 players on the Leaderboard. To participate, you only need to opt in, and make your picks. Ranks are determined by the net realized profit collected by participants during the duration of the tournament.

A 1x bonus playthrough requirement

Bonuses typically get issued as credits, which means you can’t withdraw them right away. I could only find a handful of exceptions where tournaments hand out withdrawable cash prizes to high ranking players on the leaderboard.

When you claim the welcome bonus, you’ll have to use it to make Player Picks in the fantasy sports section. Then, eligible winnings are added to your wallet as real money, which you can cash out, or use to trade contracts on Sleeper Markets.

Sleeper Markets deposit methods and daily limits

Once you’ve passed the identity verification step, you’ll have full access to your wallet and can transfer money in and out of it as you please. The only caveat is, the source of funds must be a bank account or debit card registered in your name. That rules out joint bank accounts and credit cards. I also noticed that Venmo and PayPal are listed as supported payment options, but the rulebook specifies you can only use them to pay for Player Picks.

I’ve already mentioned that no fees are charged for depositing money into the app, so whatever amount you deposit is credited to your wallet in full. There might be a slight fee charged by your bank, but this won’t affect your Sleeper account balance.

Some noteworthy deposit rules that I’d like to draw attention to are:

  • You can only pay for Team Picks using a US bank account or a debit card
  • The daily deposit limit is $1,500
  • If you live in Maryland, the maximum deposit limit is $5,000 per month
  • In Massachusetts, the monthly deposit limit is $1,000
  • If you have $10,000+ in your account, you won’t be able to deposit any more

After you approve a deposit, the funds are instantly available for trading. You can view your balance anytime by clicking on the wallet icon. I liked how live chat support was integrated into the wallet, so you can raise queries about your balance with just one tap.

Making withdrawals on the Sleeper app

Sleeper runs a full KYC check before approving your withdrawal request. This involves uploading a valid ID and a personal bill that shows your home address. Once verified, you can withdraw eligible amounts from your account. There are a few rules that apply, which I’ve summarized in the table below.

Withdrawal detailsWhat I found on Sleeper Markets
Withdrawal methodsDebit cards, bank transfer
Processing time2-5 business days
Sleeper feesNone
Minimum limit per request$10
Maximum limit per request$1,000
Daily withdrawal limits$5,000 in a 24-hour period

I mentioned earlier that you must play through your bonus credits before withdrawing them, and I’m glad to say that requirement is waived on the prediction markets. You don’t need to make a trade before withdrawing funds from your wallet. Just take note of the processing times I’ve provided above.

24/7 live chat support

If you run into any trouble on the app, you can ask for assistance on the live chat or reach out via email. I prefer a personal touch, so I mostly used the live chat option. An AI agent responded to my initial messages and then put me in touch with a human agent within a few minutes. We got along just fine and I didn’t feel rushed or misguided at any point during the conversation. I’d reached to ask about a recaptcha verification loop I found when logging into my account, and it got resolved shortly after talking to the agent.

If you’d like a more official record of your conversations with the customer support team, you can use the email support option. You’ll probably have to wait a bit longer as it can take up to 24 hours to get a response. As you wait to hear back, you can visit the support page and read the published articles and FAQs.

Is Sleeper Markets a trustworthy brand?

Yes, my Sleeper Markets review found that the brand has all the markers of a safe and trustworthy trading platform. For starters, Sleeper is a well-established brand in the US for fantasy sports. As far as I can tell, it has a great industry reputation, and has received tons of positive user reviews over the years.

Sleeper Markets LLC, the actual trading exchange, is regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). It also gets its sports contracts from Kalshi, a leading prediction markets brand in the US.

Safety is at the core of Sleeper Markets operations. You must verify your identity before you deposit money and trade on the app. Additionally, you can set up a passkey to access your account with your device’s biometric scanner, so you don’t leave a trace of your password or sensitive banking info anywhere on the app.

Getting started on Sleeper Markets

To start trading sports event contracts on the app, you’ll need to create an account and transfer money into the wallet. Here’s how to go about it.

  2. Scan the QR code to download the mobile app

  9. Tap on “Team Picks” and trade on your preferred market

Final thoughts: Sleeper Markets is a valid sports prediction market

As you can see from my Sleeper Markets review, the brand is easily one of the best sports prediction platforms in the market today. It has a lot going for it including a high-rated mobile app for iOS and Android devices, a variety of sports categories, deep markets, fair trading fees, and reliable payment methods for deposits and withdrawals. It’s also approved by the CFTC, and sources its prediction markets from Kalshi, an industry leader with years of experience.

I would have loved to see a few promos like they have at the fantasy sports section, but I’m hopeful that we’ll have some bonus drops in the coming months. My only other expectation would be to add prediction markets for other real-world events like politics and economics, but as it stands, the sports category is doing just fine on the app.

But don’t just take my word for it. Give it a try by tapping on the banners on this page to sign up and start trading sports event contracts right away.
