A card is drawn and you need to decide whether the next one in the sequence is going to be higher or lower than that – hence HiLo. The rules for Stake.com HiLo

When a round of HiLo game starts, you will see one card. You then need to make one of three decisions.

You’ll notice the option to get the same card appears for both high and low options. The website confirms this is due to having an unlimited range of cards that could potentially be drawn.

Adopting a Stake Hi Lo strategy

Firstly, check the odds given for the outcome of the next bet. If you’re not keen on the displayed card, you can skip that card and try another one. You will see three pieces of info on the screen for each game:

• Profit Higher – the multiplier prize if you guess higher and win
• Profit Lower – the multiplier prize if you guess lower and win
• The total profit for that game if you win

Here’s an example for my Stake.com HiLo guide. If you land a 10, there is a greater chance of hitting a lower card next, given that there are more values in that direction. So, the multiplier for Profit Lower will be better than the one for Profit Higher, given where the card is in the likely range. That’s because there is a greater chance of a payout in that range.

Considering risk vs reward

You could say there are more popular Stake Original games like Stake Plinko, which rode the wave of popularity of the classic Plinko variant by Spribe. But HiLo still has a big draw, and we can see why. However, there is an added element here. If you win a round, you can decide what you want to do next:

• You can cash in that prize and start with a fresh round
