I’ll admit, there’s so much about Underdog Rips that I’m eager to share. But first, here’s an overview of the platform.

What is Underdog Rips all about?

Rips is a new product found in the Underdog Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) app. It lets you buy sports packs and rip open cards right there on your smartphone. Similar to what I found during my Slabz review, each pack is tied to a physical card that is authenticated and secured in the platform’s vault.

So, if you like the digital sports card you pull and want to add it to your physical collection, you can request that the physical version be shipped to your home address. If you don’t like it, you can simply sell it back instantly for its fair market value.

And as I found out during my review, you have 3 days to either ship or sell the trading card you just ripped. If you don’t make a choice within that timeline, the operator will automatically sell it back at fair market value.

My first sports pack purchase at Underdog Rips

I decided to purchase a $25 sports pack. The operator was kind enough to let me know that the lowest value (minimum) of a card I could pull was $10, and the highest value (maximum) was $750. Excited, I ripped the pack but got a baseball trading card worth $28.75.

Then I could ship it to my doorstep or instantly sell it back at its current fair market value. I took the second option and sold the card back at market value, which was instant.

The beauty of each sports pack you find on Rips is that, besides telling you the minimum and maximum price values of the trading cards you can pull, it also lists the rarity odds of the potential items. So, the rarer the item, the more expensive and more valuable it is. It’s similar to the pack-opening process during my Cases.gg review.

Just remember that what you get is completely random. As you’ve seen in my experience, you can pull a trading card worth more, less, or the same as what you pay for the sports pack.

Is Underdog Rips allowed in the US?

Yes, it is. While it’s a product of the popular daily fantasy sports app, it functions as an e-commerce platform, which makes it available across the US. From my review, I noticed that only residents cannot access this platform.

Security-wise, account access uses the same verification and login protections as the rest of the Underdog app. So, if you already have an account with the DFS platform, feel free to log in with your credentials and access Rips.

Based on my findings, there’s no Underdog Rips bonus available for first-time customers on this platform, and you won’t find any recurring promotions here. It may be a little disappointing, especially since most competing mystery box brands offer some form of free pack after you sign up. Right now, Underdog Rips doesn’t run a dedicated VIP club or tiered loyalty program as some mystery box platforms do. It’s worth noting that while you may see some promotions on the Underdog app, they are mainly for other Underdog products, such as sportsbook, daily fantasy sports, and casino.

As of the time of writing, these deals don’t trickle down to Rips, which isn’t the same experience I enjoyed during my Gemint review. Underdog Rips’ usability and mobile app experience

Underdog Rips doesn’t have its own mobile app. It’s currently inside the main Underdog Sports app, which is available on both iOS and Android. If you plan to use a mobile browser or PC, I’m afraid that won’t be possible. Even if you registered on the platform, Underdog will provide a QR code you’ll scan, which will take you to the app download page on Google Play or the App Store to start ripping your preferred pack. This is a completely different experience from when I made my Mnstr review using my PC and mobile browser to test the platform.

When you open mystery packs in the Underdog mobile app, you’ll notice the bright visuals. And before you purchase one, you’ll clearly see the potential items you can rip. You can also use the app’s push notifications to know when new sports packs drop. So, if you want to experience Rips in the best way possible, you cannot skip downloading the Underdog app.
