VALORANT, being an attractive and fresh FPS title, keeps encouraging esports organizations to be a part of its future competitive activities. Some of the companies decide to take not only one but even two teams on board. This is a strategy the Russian organization, Falcon eSports, assured to follow.

The organization was created in 2014, and from that time had a chance to be represented by several teams in multiple games. The very first squad that played under Falcon’s name was the Call of Duty team. Most recently, the organization was present on the domestic scene in the Paladins competition, as well as in Apex Legends.

As mentioned above, Falcon eSports will have two young teams under their wings. The first team, called with the same name as the company, will be the main one that will take part in most of the tournaments. The second one will go with the name of Falcon Black and will have a function of an academy team for the promising players that want to try their chances in the newest Riot Games’ title.

“This game gives us some hope as we know the reputation of Riot Games,” tells us Roman “FoRTuNa” Dorogavcev, CEO of Falcon eSports. “We decided to give these young and prospective players a chance. We expect them to show all of their experience on the battlefield” continues Dorogavcev.

The main team consists of Nikita "h1n1maN" Zayats who will take the role of the team captain. Zayats has played PUBG on a semi-professional level and had a chance to play on local LAN events as well. Daniil "revazino" Gavrilenko has tried his chances before in CS:GO as well as in another FPS game popular on the domestic scene, WARFACE; the same goes to another member of the team, Dmitriy “noisy” Dubrovets. The remaining two players, Daniil "p1n0ch3t" Litvin and Aleksander "overalex" Tsaregorodcev were previously present on the Paladins and Overwatch esports scenes. All of these players decided to switch to VALORANT in search for better opportunities, that they couldn’t find in the other games they played before. Sergey "R1v8r" Silov will take the position of the coach of the main squad.

“I want to believe that VALORANT will reach CS:GO level or will be even bigger. The developers have put in a lot of effort into the game. Our teams are training and preparing to join the battle. The goals are quite straightforward; we work on the popularization of this game in the CIS region. Moreover, we are planning to take the leading slots on the professional scene,” says Roman Dorogavcev.

As for the second team, Falcon Black, some rosters changes happened shortly after the announcement of that squad. As we were told, three of the revealed players had to leave the team due to internal conflicts. However, all of the players had previous experience in other FPS games such as Rainbow Six: Siege and Overwatch. The core members of the team are Kirill “de1qune” Berezovsej and Roman “L1ve_2_WIN” Djumaev. The previously announced players Vlad "Boomboar" Bogdanov, Gleb "Tress" Kopein and Ivan "NOMAD" Chikanov were replaced by the following members: Vladislav “Selfless” Schultz, Maksim “Zarokka” Afonasev and Evgeniy “DerMeister” Zhirnov. More changes to this roster might come not due to the academy concept of the Falcon Black squad.

Nikita "h1n1maN" Zayats, the captain of the main Falcon eSports team, tells us: “We are optimistic of Riot Games and their new wonderful game. Even though VALORANT is still in the closed beta, there are many tournaments with relatively attractive prizes. Our team goal is to get to the first Major Tournament and to reach the heights when it comes to our individual performance, but also when we play as a team”.

CIS, without a doubt, is a region full of many hidden talents. Seeing how successful CS:GO is in that territory, we might expect more organizations wanting to join the VALORANT competition with retired CS:GO players or those who had not enough luck in other FPS games. While most of the eyes are focused on the North American and European regions, CIS is clearly something to pay attention to and we can’t wait to hear about more organizations joining the battle in the coming weeks!
