Team Heretics faces a harsh opponent

In the first match of the day, we had Team Heretics against Evil Geniuses, and on EG's map pick, Pearl, the match started in intense fashion! Both teams played very well and fought round by round. The highlight player of the first half was Cista "keloqz" Wassim, who was crucial for the team's solid start and ended the defensive side with a score of 6-6.

However, the second half of the map was much more one-sided, Team Heretics couldn't find their way back into the game to chase the win. Evil Geniuses only lost 2 rounds for the rest of the match and closed out Pearl with a 13-8 victory.

The second map of the series and Team Heretics' pick, Ascent, had a similar storyline to the first one. The EMEA representatives had a good start, but Evil Geniuses quickly took control of the match and again won 13-8. The standout player of this map, and the entire series, was Ethan who finished with an impressive 1.72 rating.

MIBR loses on home ground

In the second match, we had the first Brazilian team play at VCT LOCK IN. It was mibr's turn to face Talon Esports, which came to Brazil without one of its main stars, Patiphan.

On the first map of the series, chosen by MIBR, the Brazilian team started off well but relied heavily on individual plays, such as the beautiful ACE by Olavo "heat" Marcelo in the 6th round. Unable to adapt during the match, the team struggled to score again and couldn't deal with the pressure exerted by the Pacific team. With only 4 points scored on Attack, considered the advantageous side on Haven, it became very difficult for MIBR to put together a comeback. Talon took advantage of the opportunities and closed out the map, losing only 4 rounds per half. The final score was 13-8.

On the second map of the series, Fracture, Talon again brought a great game and knew how to execute their team strategy well. MIBR once again relied on individual plays from the players to bring in rounds and closed out the first half losing 5-7. However, on Defense, MIBR showed better game and managed to string together a good series of rounds, but this moment was quickly surpassed by Talon, who made good use of pauses and sound decision-making to turn the game in their favor. In the end, the Pacific team secured their second win of the series and advanced to the next stage, eliminating the Brazilians.

LOUD proves why they are the World Champions

In the last match of the day, we had the current world champions, LOUD, face-off against the Pacific representatives, Gen.G Esports. LOUD had a good start on their chosen map, Pearl, easily winning the first 4 rounds. However, Gen.G surprised fans on the stage after winning a sequence of 7 rounds, ending the first half with a 7-5 advantage. Yet as the attackers, after losing the Pistol Round and Eco, the Brazilians didn't lose any more rounds and managed to bring the victory home with a 13-9 score.

On the second map of the series, Fracture, and certainly the most disputed map of the day, there was no shortage of excitement. Gen.G started with the lead on the scoreboard, but soon the Brazilians had an excellent sequence of 8 rounds, losing only the last one to avoid the 9-3 curse, 8-4 in the first half for LOUD. In the second half, now on the Attack side, where they could make better use of their composition, the Koreans from Gen.G put on a show. They won all the rounds to tie the game and turn it around with a 12-10 score. LOUD managed to bring the tie at 12-12, and we had the first OT of the day. However, Gen.G couldn't show their strength in overtime and was quickly overcome by LOUD, who won the two rounds in sequence, 14-12 on the scoreboard for the Brazilians, and the Korean run in the event came to an end.

The highlight of the match goes to Cauan "cauanzin" Pereira, who was essential for the Brazilian victory on both maps.
