It’s only been a couple of months since Riot Games has added a new agent to VALORANT, but now, players are preparing for the arrival of another playable character that will be lighting up the battlefield with flashy plays and outrageous abilities.

Riot will be completely revealing the new agent on March 2 before the Grand Finals of VCT 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025 in a showmatch featuring TenZ. There hasn’t been too much information that has been released about the agent, but there have been multiple teasers hinting at what the agent will be along with their ability kit. People have been clamoring for a fun agent to create some incredible montages with, and it seems like this agent will be satiating this need.

Dawn of the Duelist

According to Riot, the next agent will be a duelist, as to match all of the promotional pieces released for Masters Bangkok. In a video made by Riot, they showed gameplay of the agent to various pro players, where they gave their opinions on the character.

Hyun-min " HYUNMIN" Song and Kang "BeYN" Ha-bin from DRX said that the new agent was like a “fruit salad” consisting of Jett, Yoru, and Reyna combined, that “no one will pick Jett” after their release, and that they are “absolutely broken.” G2 Esports’s Alexander "jawgemo" Mor and Nathan "leaf" Orf agreed that the new agent is very “fast-paced,” “super fidgety,” and “just doesn’t stop,” and that the playstyle will be absolutely disruptive for all setups.

Sentinels’s resident duelist Zachary "zekken" Patrone said that the agent’s playstyle will be “aggressive” and that they’ll be “very annoying to play against.” It appears like the new agent will be hell to face off against if you are holding a site as a defender, especially as a sentinel.

Abilities?

Riot has only teased one of the new agents abilities. In the short clip, Killjoy is caught in the AOE of an ability, that seems to have a similar radius to Tejo’s Special Delivery ability, and windup before it detonates. The effect of the ability, however, is very different. In the video, Killjoy is seen jumping away while she reloads. She has a bubble around her head, which seems to indicate she is affected by some sort of status effect.

While she is affected by this ability, time seems to slow down for her, with Riot playing Ave Maria for dramatic effect. She even is jumping and reloading in slow motion, which has the community wondering if this is the introduction of a new status effect: Time slow. This would be an absolutely broken ability that would make holding angles a nightmare if you are hit by this ability because you are essentially a dead man walking. Players could time various damaging abilities to get easy kills or simply swing out and get a free kill on a slowed target.

On March 1, the developers dropped a new teaser for the agent on X that showed players a first glimpse at the agent's movement ability. The caption on the tweet read "be there in a flash," with the image of a glowing character zooming through a busy market. This is clearly a teaser for the duelist's movement that allows them to zoom through the battlefield. It isn't known if this movement is a dash, or a sprint-like ability like Neon. However, it seems like we are finally getting a new character that can zoom into areas and take space a la Jett or Raze. It's been three years since Neon was released, and she is the last agent to have a drastic movement ability.

Seeing the reaction from the pros, this agent might be one of the most broken yet, and will probably have many players begging for nerfs soon after its release.
