AvovA, batujnax, and MOLSI explore new opportunities after Apeks exit
Following their relegation from VCT EMEA, Apeks are now releasing their players one by one as the organization rebuilds heading into 2026. So far, Auni "AvovA" Chahade, Mehmet Batu "batujnax" ÖZASLAN, and Michał "MOLSI" Łącki have officially announced their hunt for new teams and opportunities in the VCT.
batujnax first to go
The first to announce his departure was Turkish talent batujnax, who revealed on X that he is allowed to explore opportunities outside of the organization. After thanking Apeks and the fans for their support, he expressed excitement about turning the page to a new chapter in his career. He remains under contract with Apeks while searching for future possibilities.
Joining as part of the Apeks rebuild after winning VCT 2024 - Ascension: EMEA, batujnax came aboard in January 2025. While he first caught attention with standout performances on Yoru, he transitioned into a Sentinel/flex role as the team adjusted to VCT play. Looking ahead, he’s open to any role—willing to remain a flex player or even step into an in-game leader position if the opportunity arises.
MOSLI follows suit
Shortly after batujnax's announcement, MOLSI confirmed on X that he has become a restricted free agent. After two years leading the Apeks roster as IGL, MOLSI exits with a major achievement under his belt—guiding the team to the EMEA Ascension title in 2024. Prior to Apeks, he competed with Team Vitality for about a year, contributing to their 5th–6th place finish in the VCT 2023 - EMEA League.
Now, with multiple seasons of high-level IGL experience, MOLSI is ready to continue leading other teams. On X, he stated that he is “still good and capable of IGLing on the highest level.” He’s also open to switching to the Controller role and is willing to relocate to other regions if needed.
AvovA says goodbye
The most recent departure is veteran Controller AvovA. After Apeks' relegation was confirmed, he posted a farewell message on X, admitting he was “at the bottom of the barrel” mentally. He followed up with a heartfelt post reflecting on his time with the team and the challenges they endured together.
According to AvovA, he struggled to find his footing during the 2025 season and experienced a significant loss of confidence. He offered special thanks to teammates Erik "penny" Penny and Diogo "OLIZERA" Oliveira for their support during VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - EMEA Stage 2, saying they “definitely deserve to be in the VCT.” After taking time to reflect on his personal struggles, AvovA now feels ready to pursue new opportunities in VCT.
AvovA brings an impressive résumé, having previously played for Team Heretics during their first partnership year and representing G2 Esports during their time in Europe. At Apeks, he was the team’s designated smokes player. While he remains open to continuing as a Controller, he’s now expanding his agent pool and grinding as a Flex and Sentinel.
Uncertain future for the relegated team
Throughout their time in VCT EMEA, Apeks recorded a 0–12 match record. After winning Ascension, they failed to secure a single victory—even counting their two EWC VALORANT - Esports World Cup 2025 matches. Relegation from VCT did not come as a surprise, and the organization now has to figure out how to proceed.
Allowing former players to seek new teams is the first step. Two players, however, remain on the roster. Penny joined Apeks shortly before Stage 2, relocating from North America to Europe. His future with the team remains uncertain. The same is said for Olizera. The Portuguese player joined Apeks right before Penny and is still on the active roster. What’s next for this team and the remaining players is still up in the air.
Apeks current roster
- Erik "penny" Penny
- Diogo "OLIZERA" Oliveira
- Danail "DANNYTO" Sofroniev (Head coach)
- Chad "oderus" Miller (Coach)
