Begrip Gaming to be the world's first VALORANT team

The esports organizations are not sleeping on the new rising esports title. Just one day before the official launch of the VALORANT beta in Europe and North America, the Swedish organization Begrip Gaming has announced its entrance to the scene which makes them the very first organization with a fully completed roster.

Begrip Gaming is a well-known name on the domestic Swedish scene. The organization was founded in 2000 and became a home for many Counter-Strike 1.6 and later CS:GO talents such as Markus "pronax" Wallsten, Faruk "pita" Pita or Richard "Xizt" Landström. The company halted its activity back in 2014 and remained inactive till February 2020 when they have announced a new CS:GO team.

Seems like the launch of VALORANT is a perfect chance to let the organization continue to explore the esports scene of the first-person shooters.

In the freshly established team, we will see some familiar faces from the other games: Taha “WILLSTARZ” Güven from Turkey, who previously played Apex Legends for İstanbul Wild Cats along with the German duo Florian “Unbreakable” Nagel (former player for x6tence in Zula) and Fabien Mathias “28CM” Hahn. The latter might be a surprising choice due to the fact that 28CM is known infamously for getting banned live in the middle of an online tournament in a game of Black Squad. The reason behind this ban was related to the alleged usage of cheats, which later was proven to be false but still remains questionable. The remaining players are Miho “Miho” Shockolade from Denmark and Oliver “R32” Fisker from the Netherlands. All of the players have previous experience in various tactical shooter titles. Besides the mentioned games above, some of the players also competed in smaller tournaments run by the third-party organizers in CS:GO and S.K.I.L.L. – Special Force 2.

The organization and the players might have a lot of eyes on themselves for being the world’s first full VALORANT team. But knowing the competitive focus on the game from the Riot Games, we can surely expect more and more companies investing in the professional teams in various regions. Which one of them will have the biggest chance to dominate the scene from the early days?
