After failing to qualify for VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Toronto 2025, DRX is looking for answers in familiar places for their VALORANT roster. The team has officially brought back Cho "Flashback" Min-hyuk and promoted Yoon "Flicker" Tae-hee from DRX Prospects in time for the upcoming EWC VALORANT - Esports World Cup 2025 and for VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Pacific Stage 2.

Flicker has been with DRX’s Academy team since 2023, slowly building his stock within the team’s developmental system. He will finally get a chance to prove himself on the biggest stage of his career vs. his toughest opponents yet.

Flashback returns, reveals mental health struggles

Meanwhile, Flashback will be returning after leaving the starting roster this past April. The talented player released his own hand-written statement around the reasons for his departure, stating that he had been dealing with some mental health issues that he regrettably pushed to the side. However, this affected him heavily on and off-stage.

“Initially, the team expressed frustration and discontent at Flashback's decision to step away from the team so abruptly,” DRX’s statement said. “However, as the situation regarding his mental health soon became clear, DRX has taken the immediate steps to support his recovery and eventual return.”

According to the team, Flashback has been attending therapy sessions with a professional, and will be continuing his appointments throughout the rest of the year. Additionally, Flashback spoke to his coaching stage and teammates in June to acknowledge his actions and take accountability for them, in order to build trust back within the group. It seems like those steps have helped all parties involved to where he can be added back to the roster, which is a great sign for the organization and fans.

    DRX's new roster

Moving forward, DRX will be competing in the Esports World Cup with a six-man roster, excluding Flashback.

    • Kim "MaKo" Myeong-kwan
    • Hyun-min " HYUNMIN" Song
    • No "free1ng" Ha-jun
    • Kang "BeYN" Ha-bin
    • Park "Estrella" Gun
    • Yoon "Flicker" Tae-hee

However, they will be playing with seven players during Stage Two, including Flashback in the starting lineup.

    • Kim "MaKo" Myeong-kwan
    • Hyun-min " HYUNMIN" Song
    • No "free1ng" Ha-jun
    • Kang "BeYN" Ha-bin
    • Park "Estrella" Gun
    • Yoon "Flicker" Tae-hee
    • Cho "Flashback" Min-hyuk
