DVM banned from VALORANT Challengers France Stage 2 after altercation between supporters
A day after Challengers Day in VCL 2025 - France: Revolution Stage 2, Riot Games has made an official announcement after the events that occurred between DVM and Joblife fans. Riot has decided to ban DVM from the remainder of Stage Two, and that they are continuing to review the situation and will take additional action if necessary.
A brawl between supporters
According to multiple testimonies, an altercation broke out between DVM and JobLife supporters in the crowd during the live Challengers Day event at Les Arènes d'Evry Courcouronnes. There were multiple people involved on both sides, but there are claims saying that DVM supporters were allegedly the aggressors. There are also some fans saying that JobLife supporters were tear-gassed during the brawl, although that has yet to be proven.
Additionally, there are several clips of the altercation where DVM executives can be seen among the fans supposedly instigating the events, and smacking phones out of people's hands. DVM has denied and refuted the allegations levied towards them, and says not to believe every tweet seen.
DVM was one of the best teams in the league, having finished with a 2-1 record and second in their group heading into the playoffs. Had they played their match against JobLife and beaten them, they would have had a chance to play against Valiant, in the upper bracket quarterfinals. A spot in VCL 2025 - EMEA Stage 1 would have been at stake, but now, they won't have the chance to qualify at all. If Riot's ongoing review brings up any more information, there is a chance that stricter punishments could be dealt out if more evidence suggests that people working for DVM were involved.
