FC Barcelona enters Game Changers VALORANT with Barça eSports GC

FC Barcelona has officially expanded its esports division with the launch of Barça eSports GC, an all-female VALORANT roster set to compete in the 2026 VALORANT Game Changers circuit. The initiative marks the club’s first-ever women’s esports team, reaffirming its commitment to equality, inclusion, and its motto of being “More than a Club.”

A New Chapter in Barça’s Esports Journey

While FC Barcelona is globally recognized for its achievements in traditional sports, its presence in esports has been steadily growing since 2019, when it debuted with a Rocket League roster. The organization entered VALORANT’s competitive ecosystem in 2024 through Challengers Spain: Rising, where it clinched the Split 2 title and secured a top-10 finish in VCT 2024 - Ascension: EMEA.

With the formation of Barça eSports GC, Barcelona aims to build on this momentum within the VALORANT ecosystem, this time focusing on the women’s scene through Riot Games’ Game Changers program. The club’s objective is clear: qualify for the 2026 Game Changers Championship and establish itself as a leading force in women’s esports.

Promoting Equality Through Esports

Launched in 2021, VALORANT Game Changers provides opportunities for women and marginalized genders in a safe, competitive environment. For Barcelona, joining the circuit aligns perfectly with its broader mission to champion gender equality in sports. The club’s statement emphasized that this initiative “forms part of FC Barcelona’s commitment to promoting equality and inclusion in sport,” echoing its decades-long support for women’s football.

The newly unveiled roster is packed with experience from across Europe’s Game Changers and tier-two VALORANT circuits:
