FunPlus Phoenix through to semifinals after close matchup with Dfuse
The second upper bracket final in Europe’s Masters pitted FunPlus Phoenix up against Team BDS. It was very close, with both maps reaching a 13-11 scoreline, but ultimately FPX edged ahead. They’ll move on to the semifinals, while Dfuse have one last chance to go through against Guild Esports tomorrow.
Split was the first map, and Dfuse started out on the defense. Some of the early rounds were crazy - Rodolphe "rodeN" Bianco even won one with a Raze Blast Pack - and Logan "logaN" Corti had great impact as always. Ultimately, though, some intelligent play from FPX edged them ahead. Jonathan "TakaS" Paupard consistently invested in an Operator to mixed results, and the half ended 7-5 for FPX.
The second half kept the craziness going. logaN clutched out a 1v4 when Andrey "Shao" Kiprsky... went for a knife kill? I guess? Alex "AKUMAAAAA" Lo Bello would do some flicking, Tobias "ShadoW" Flodström and Dmitriy "dimasick" Matvienko would each have massive rounds, and ultimately, it all came to an end at 13-11 FPX.
