The latest visa issues that have been plaguing European VALORANT have also spread to the Americas. Now, FURIA will be forced to field a roster made up entirely of substitute players for their debut match against 2GAME Esports at the VCT 2025 - Americas Kickoff.

A makeshift squad

At appears that not a single one of the original Brazilian players for the organization have been able to secure a visa in time for the start of the event. Instead, the team will have to make use of a roster built entirely of North American players for the time being.

The news, however, could well come as a stroke of good luck for 2GAME, the recently ascended Brazilian team whom FURIA is meant to go up against to start their Kickoff journey on January 17.

FURIA’s roster for the start of the VCT Americas Kickoff will look as follows:

  • Jack "add3r" Hayashi
  • Brandon "Bdog" Sanders
  • Brenden "stellar" McGrath
  • Jake "jakee" Anderson
  • Erik "penny" Penny

A ray of light for FURIA

Thankfully for FURIA, some semblance of synergy may already be in place for the team despite showing up with a roster made up squarely of substitute players.

Add3r, bdog and stellar have all played together in the past for Turtle Troop, as well as a brief stint under the DarkZero Esports banner when it took over the roster. As for jakee and penny, the pair have been playing together for YFP Gaming during the latter half of 2024.

Perhaps more importantly, though, having played for Cloud9 in the past, jakee's experience in the VCT may prove invaluable for the team. FURIA will need to make use of his experience as the squad tries to handle the pressure of the main stage for their opening match against 2GAME at the VCT Americas Kickoff.
