With the conclusion of the Upper Bracket Finals at the VCT 2025 - Americas Kickoff, G2 Esports has officially secured their spot at VCT 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025. They are the first team from the Americas region to qualify for the first international LAN event of 2025.

G2’s Rise to Tier 1 Success

G2 Esports’ journey to becoming a top contender in VCT Americas has been nothing short of impressive. Originally competing as The Guard, the roster made its way to Tier 1 VALORANT through VCT 2023 - Challengers Ascension: AMERICAS, earning a spot in the highest level of competitive play.

In 2024, they quickly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with, securing second-place finishes at VCT 2024 - Americas Stage 1 and VCT 2024 - Americas Stage 2, and a third-place finish at VCT 2024 - Masters Shanghai. However, their disappointing performance at VCT 2024 - Champions 2024 left fans expecting more from the squad.

Heading into 2025, G2 made a key roster change, parting ways with Jacob "icy" Lange and bringing in Alexander "jawgemo" Mor, a former Champions winner with Evil Geniuses. This move has seemingly paid off, as G2 is once again dominating VCT Americas.

Flawless Upper Bracket Run

Starting their campaign directly from the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals, G2 has been unstoppable. They have yet to drop a map, securing clean 2-0 victories over Cloud9, Leviatán, and Sentinels. The standout performances from Nathan "leaf" Orf have been instrumental in their success, while jawgemo also showcased his firepower against Sentinels.

Despite some doubts about the difficulty of their matchups, G2’s dominant win over Sentinels proves they are in top form heading into the Kickoff Finals and Masters Bangkok. Meanwhile, Sentinels will face MIBR in the Lower Bracket Finals, where they will fight for the second Americas spot at Masters and a potential rematch against G2 for the title.

G2 Esports’ journey is far from over, but their qualification for Masters Bangkok cements their position as a top team in the region.
