The reports were true after all. G2 Esports officially revealed Aleksander "zeek" Zygmunt as their fifth player, following the departure of David "davidp" Prins from the organization’s VALORANT roster. The rumors surrounding the Polish player joining the team has been ongoing for quite some time, and it has finally come to fruition.

For those of you unfamiliar with zeek’s pre-VALORANT career, he is a former Fortnite professional who represented Dynamind and AGO Esports. During that time, he managed to win the Search and Destroy Love & War Europe, while placing 5th in the Ewron Royale Squad Tournament, 8th in the Ewron Royale Duo Tournament, and 9th in the War Legend: Invitational #11.

As for his VALORANT tenure so far, zeek was considered one of the focal points of nolpenki’s success. He managed to win both the VALORANT Act 2: Polish Invitational and the TOURSTAT Summer Clash tournaments. In addition to that, he placed 2nd in the Polish Open #FRAMESWINGAMES and the Valorant Challenge 2. His latest result is a 7th-8th finish in the Logitech G Invitational.

Also joining the team is former Rix.GG Thunder coach Neil "nEiLZiNHo" Finlay. Rix.GG were always a solid European team, but failed to win an event or qualify for First Strike. Now that the team has disbanded, G2 has snapped him up as their first official coach, and it will be interesting to see where G2 go under his direction.

There is no doubt zeek adds a lot to the G2 Esports squad, averaging an impressive 245 ACS and having a 65% Entry Success Rate. His expertise in playing all of Sova, Raze, and Cypher at the highest level make him an invaluable addition and it will be exciting to see how he will perform at his new home.

G2 Esports’ roster for 2021 will be:

Spain Oscar “m1xwell” Cañellas Colocho Poland Patryk “paTiTek” Fabrowski Sweden Jacob “pyth” Mourujärvi Latvia Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks Poland Aleksander "zeek" Zygmunt

United Kingdom Neil "nEiLZiNHo" Finlay (Coach)
