G2 Gozen bench longtime member Petra

G2 Gozen have announced a major change to their VALORANT roster, benching longtime member Petra "Petra" Stoker. The announcement was made via the official G2 VALORANT X account, where the organization praised Petra for her invaluable contributions.

In a follow up post, the organization clarified that Petra still remains a part of G2 and that a farewell video will only be prepared if she decides to fully part ways in the future.

A Legacy of Success

Petra was part of the original G2 Gozen roster formed in 2021 and has been instrumental in the team's dominance within the Game Changers scene. During her time, she helped G2 secure numerous titles, including the prestigious VCT GC 2022 - Championship and multiple first-place finishes in the GC EMEA regional circuit.

Under her tenure, G2 Gozen consistently placed in the top three of nearly every Game Changers event, with the sole exception being a fourth-place finish at VALORANT Game Changers 2023 - EMEA Series 3. Her departure from the active lineup marks a significant shift for the team, as few players have matched her longevity and impact.

Now with her on the bench, Michaela "mimi" Lintrup remains the only member from their founding line-up.

Uncertainty Ahead of Red Bull Instalock

The timing of Petra’s benching creates an additional challenge for G2 Gozen, who are set to compete at Red Bull Instalock 2025 from May 2nd to 3rd. With the event fast approaching and no official replacement announced, G2 finds itself temporarily down a player. Given the short window before the event, it seems likely that G2 will bring in a substitute rather than rush a permanent signing. This decision would allow the team to maintain stability while considering long-term options after the tournament.
