As the first week of playoffs wraps up at VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Pacific Stage 1, the Pacific region has found its first two representatives for VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Toronto 2025. Gen.G Esports and Rex Regum Qeon triumphed in their respective Upper Bracket semifinals against BOOM Esports and DRX to punch their tickets to the second international event of the year.

Gen.G's Journey Back to the Top

For Gen.G, this qualification marks a significant step in their rebuilding process. After their historic VCT 2024 - Masters Shanghai win last year, the original roster parted ways, leaving the organization to pick up the pieces. The transition period has been challenging, but signs of resurgence were evident earlier this year when they secured third place at VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Pacific Kickoff. Unfortunately, that performance wasn’t enough to take them to VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025.

Now, with Kim "t3xture" Na-ra still leading the charge and a new squad beginning to gel, Gen.G have shown that they are not a team to be counted out. Their qualification for Toronto hints at a new era for Tiger Nation, one where they aim to reestablish themselves as one of the most feared teams in the world.

    RRQ's Moment of Triumph

Few teams inspire the same level of admiration as RRQ. Ever since entering the franchised Pacific league, they have been the epitome of consistency. However, that consistency often meant finishing in the middle of the pack, with placements hovering between fifth and eighth place.

Heading into 2025, with only minimal roster changes, many expected a similar outcome after a modest showing at the Pacific Kickoff. But RRQ defied expectations during the Stage 1 group stage, earning crucial wins over heavyweights like T1 and TALON. Their momentum carried them through the playoffs, culminating in a hard-fought victory over DRX to secure their spot at Masters Toronto.

This marks RRQ’s first international qualification since VCT 2023 - LOCK//IN. While international expectations for the team may remain modest, RRQ has already proven that they are capable of rising to the occasion when it matters most. They’ll no doubt be aiming to make a deep run and perhaps even chase the elusive silverware that has evaded them so far.
