GIANTX members respond after suffering 13-0 vs. Natus Vincere
For the first time in three years, the European VALORANT community witnessed a complete shutout on the VCT EMEA stage when Natus Vincere took down GIANTX by a completely lopsided score of 13-0. It was complete shellacking of the joint organization, and the crowd was thoroughly shocked by the events.
Absolute domination
It was a wild finish, considering that GX had won the first map by a scoreline of 13-9, and the series didn't look necessarily too lopsided for either team. But in the final match, Natus Vincere had an absolute lockdown defensive half, with Emirhan "hiro" Kat dropping 20 kills and only two deaths. Eight rounds in the first half ended with Natus Vincere eliminating GX, and by the end of the match, only one player had a negative KDA on Natus Vincere. There were multiple matches that nearly ended in a 13-0 scoreline across multiple regions, but GX finally made history by completing the unfortunate task.
Looking ahead, the future seems rather grim for GX, with the team sitting winless through VCT 2025 - EMEA Stage 1. Their hopes at attending VCT 2025 - Masters Toronto 2025 are quickly dwindling, since there are only two matches remaining for them to win, and only the top four teams will advance to the playoffs. Only the top three teams in the region will move on to attend the next international event in Toronto, so things are looking dire for the organization.
Perseverance is key
GX's in-game leader Kirill "Cloud" Nehozhin voiced his frustrations on his social media, stating that he hasn't been a worse situation throughout his career and life. He expressed that he and the team have been trying multiple different solution that have yet to yield any positive results, and that he is "ashamed" for what is happening on stage. Of course, losing in such a manner has "hit different" for Cloud, and might be a huge source of pressure next week. Granted, Cloud was best performing player on that third map, finishing with the highest ACS and tied for the most kills on the team with seven eliminations.
Tomás "tomaszy" Machado has been under heavy scrutiny by the EMEA community for his performance, with some even calling him the worst non-IGL player in EMEA. Tomaszy said on his social media that "God gives his best warriors, the hardest challenges." Unfortunately, he was lambasted by fans in the comments of his post.
Miłosz "westside" Duda also mentioned on social media that he and his team "tried almost everything" but that it didn't show in their stage play. It is a tough situation to be in, especially since all of the members are under the age of 22. Unfortunately for them, their next match is going to be against Fnatic, currently one of the best teams in Group Alpha. They'll need to reset their mental, and return to the stage stronger than ever before to best this experienced squad.
