After bowing out in the round of 64 during VCT Stage 3 EMEA Challengers 1, Team Heretics will be looking quite different for Challengers 2. The team has announced that due to injury, Ardis "ardiis" Svarenieks will be benched from the starting roster, while Saidi "Amilwa" Amine will come in to replace the star.

The move comes as a massive loss for Team Heretics, as they originally brought Ardiis and Patryk "paTiTek" Fabrowski in early June in an effort to upgrade their roster for a Masters 3 push to make it to Berlin. Despite the starpower that Heretics currently has, they suffered a massive upset loss to BK ROG Esports, who themselves made it all the way to the closed qualifiers.

As for team composition, the addition of Amilwa will not change much. He will likely step in for Ardiis on the Sova role, possibly even the Skye on certain maps. During Challengers 1, he played for the free agent roster of Reject$, as they played well enough to reach the round of 32, where they fell to Alliance in a close 1-2 match.

With this change, Heretics will look to find their form to reach the Closed Qualifers, and potentially EMEA Stage 3 Playoffs that take place in August. That event will be the final qualifier for teams looking to advance to Masters 3.

After this change, Team Heretics will field: Spain Christian Garcia “Iowel” Antoran Czech Republic Ondrej “MONSTEERR” Petru France Saidi "Amilwa" Amine Poland Patryk “paTiTek” Fabrowski Germany Feliks “al0rante” Brandl
