MIBR conir on her new chapter at GCC 2026: “When dreams don’t come true, you have to find new ones elsewhere"
No discussion of VALORANT Game Changers 2026 - Championship would be complete without mentioning Constanza "conir" Reyes. In her fifth international appearance, conir kicked off the tournament in dominant fashion, leading MIBR GC to a convincing victory over FENNEL Female.
In an exclusive interview with THESPIKE following the win, conir reflected on her career and a challenging year for the organization, which had to fight its way through the VALORANT Game Changers 2026 - Americas Last Chance Qualifier to secure a place at the event.
She also discussed the transition to a new organization after spending five years with KRÜ Blaze, as well as her confidence in the team’s chances of finally lifting the trophy in front of their home crowd.
A turbulent road, but a confident arrival
MIBR GC were the last team to secure a place at the Game Changers Championship 2026, having been eliminated from the Brazilian stage and forced to fight for their spot through the VALORANT Game Changers 2026 - Americas Last Chance Qualifier.
Although they opened their campaign with a dominant victory over the Japanese organization, conir acknowledged that the road to the Championship had been far from easy. Their mindset for the Championship was shaped by the LCQ, which they approached as the true start of their international campaign.
THESPIKE: "How does it feel to kick off the tournament with a victory?"
Conir: "We were already feeling very confident coming out of the LCQ, as we had essentially started our international campaign there rather than today. I think that helped us settle into the tournament more easily."
THESPIKE: "After a difficult period that forced you to go through the LCQ to secure your place at the GCC 2026, how did the team grow throughout that tournament, and what aspects of your game did you focus on improving to arrive here in such good form?"
I think we started to understand each other better and find a balance, which helped us grow in confidence. At first, we struggled with communication and trust, but eventually, we figured out our playstyle and began to improve as a team. Since then, things have been going much better, and we now have a clear understanding of what we need to do.
West vs. East: The Game Changers Gap
Despite a convincing win over FENNEL, conir knows the challenge ahead will be a different one, with G2 Gozen expected to offer a different level of competition.
THESPIKE: "Your next opponent is G2, a matchup that carries extra significance for MIBR given that you eliminated team at last year’s Championship. How are you feeling about this challenge, and do you expect it to be tougher than today’s match?"
Conir: "It will be much more difficult, but we’re confident. We know how to beat them, and we know what we need to do. We just have to avoid overthinking things or making the game more complicated than it needs to be. Sometimes, we get caught up thinking too much about what our opponents might do, and we end up getting in our own way by expecting too much from them. We just have to play our game."
THESPIKE: "We’ve seen what appears to be a gap between the Asian teams and those from the Americas and EMEA. Do you think there are significant differences between the regions in terms of individual skill or macro play?"
Conir: "I think there’s a significant gap, especially when it comes to macro play. Mechanically, they’re very well-organized, but strategically, I feel they rely heavily on having a plan in place. When things don’t go as expected, they struggle to adapt. That’s where the Americas region is far ahead."
An icon of LATAM VALORANT
Few players have left as lasting a mark on the Latin American inclusive VALORANT scene as conir. Alongside Michaela "mimi" Lintrup and Alexis "alexis" Guarrasi, she is one of only three players worldwide to have attended every edition of the Championship. For her, this remarkable consistency is a testament to the hard work and dedication that have brought her this far.
For me, it’s a source of pride and a reflection of all the work I’ve put in over the years. I’ve been building towards this for a long time, always striving to improve and qualify for the Championship. The results haven’t always been what I hoped for, but I’ve never stopped trying, believing in myself, and giving my best. And I think this year, I’ve reached a whole new level.
This year, however, conir finds herself wearing different colors. After spending five years with KRÜ Blaze, she returns to the Championship representing MIBR GC, marking a new chapter in her career.
My dream has always been to win with a Latin American organization. It has always been my goal and motivation. But sometimes, dreams don’t come true, and you have to find new ones elsewhere. This is a different feeling, and I think it’s part of life. I’m excited, I want to win, and I want to help the team in any way I can. I always say I’m like Timotino [from 100 Thieves]. I’m just happy to be here and arriving at this stage with that mindset makes the experience feel different.
Is winning really that hard?
The mentality of Roberto "erde" Lobos has also made its way to the Game Changers Championship, with conir drawing inspiration from her fellow Chilean, who most recently lifted the VALORANT Game Changers 2026 - Championship trophy. For her, winning may not be as difficult as it seems, as long as the team trusts its preparation and sticks to what it has been working on.
I can say something similar to what [LOUD] erde said. The games themselves aren't difficult. We just need to go into them with confidence and trust in what we practice every day, rather than overthinking things or trying to do something different in the moment. We know what we're capable of, so for me, winning is absolutely possible.
Conir, however, admits that she has never been this confident before. This year has helped her grow into a better version of herself, becoming a more confident player who truly believes in her team and the work they put in together.
For me, the most important thing was trust. Trusting my teammates, not doubting what the person next to me was saying, believing in my own thoughts, and trusting both the calls being made in-game and the coach’s calls. Now, I am fully confident that this MIBR will win.
The 2026 Game Changers Championship takes place in São Paulo, Brazil, from October 22 to November 1.
