Mouse and PC issues plague the start of VALORANT Champions Shanghai

VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - Champions Shanghai started just one day ago, and technical issues are already popping up. Three players have reported gear issues: Kim "Francis" Mu-bin, Nikita "trexx" Cherednichenko, and Burak "LêwN" Alkan, all of whom allegedly had problems with their PCs. Curiosuly, they all played on the same side of the stage.

This isn't a first-time problem for Riot; before VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025, these kinds of issues were much more frequent. Things changed during that event as Riot started deploying the new global PC fleet. However, the wireless mouse problems have never been solved.

A problem that needs addressing

Riot has faced this problem for many years, and yet it still persists. The biggest issue with suboptimal PC performance is that it could break competitive integrity, giving the team facing those issues a major disadvantage in the series.

As Nongshim RedForce's Francis said on X:

I am personally disappointed that I was not able to demonstrate my skills properly due to mouse and PC issues in such a hugely meaningful competition. Nevertheless, I will overcome any situation and play well again in good form. I will do well in the next game [...] I'm not saying we lost to NRG because of our equipment. They were more experienced than us and had the skills to overwhelm us. We will grow further so that we can beat not only them but everyone.

Nongshim may well have lost the series with or without the issues, but if the series had been much closer, such technical problems could have been far more influential and damaging.

Karmine Corp's Duelist LewN also complained about issues regarding his mouse, which he luckily managed to solve thanks to a reserve mouse.

So far, it seems these issues haven't severely impacted the outcome of matches, but in the coming days Riot must find out what’s happening to protect competitive integrity at the year's most important tournament for VALORANT.
