Daniel Ringland, Head of VALORANT Esports EMEA has weighed in on the recent offseason news surrounding BBL Esports and BBL PCIFIC going into the VCT 2026 season.

One of the hottest VALORANT offseason topics has centered around the newly ascended BBL PCFIC team going into the new season. It had previously been reported that BBL Esports would be signing the entire BBL PCFIC team going into the 2026 season of the VCT EMEA.

This sparked controversy in the VALORANT community, as it would leave PCIFIC Esports in need of an entirely new lineup ahead of Kickoff 2026.

In previous years, players from newly ascended teams had been picked up to join partnered teams ahead of the VCT season. This was notably done by Apeks duelist Kajetan "kaajak" Haremski, who transferred over to Fnatic ahead of the 2025 season, where he helped the organization reach a second-place finish at both VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Toronto 2025 and VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Valorant Champions. Another instance of this happening came ahead of the 2024 season when the ex-The Guard core joined G2 Esports due to The Guard failing to meet the deadline for the Team Participation Agreement.

Head of VCT EMEA makes a statement on situation

However, the impending transfer of BBL PCFIC to BBL Esports is one that has not yet been done in VCT franchising.

As a result, Ringland took to social media to address the ongoing situation between the two parties.

“We have thoroughly reviewed each player’s contract for compliance and reached out to the players involved to remind them of their rights,” Ringland said. “At the same time, we also reviewed the allegations of shared ownership across both orgs, and can confirm this is not true. At this stage, the evidence reviewed indicates no wrongdoing by either BBL or PCIFIC.”

In a previous statement, Ringland also addressed the rumours of PCIFIC’s slot in the VCT EMEA 2026 and confirmed they will take part in the league for the coming season.

Throughout the statement on X, Ringland mentioned that it would “be wrong” for them to take away the slot from PCIFIC Esports despite the recent news. He stated that they had “earned the promotion” and passed their required checks despite losing their roster.

What’s next for BBL and PCIFIC?

As a result, PCIFIC Esports will be in search of an entirely new team going into the VCT EMEA 2026 season. It is uncertain what will happen to the remaining players in BBL Esports, who pieced together an impressive 2025 campaign that saw the team climb all the way to third place at the end of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - EMEA Stage 2. It will be interesting to see where the rest of the team goes if this transfer occurs.

As for BBL Esports, they will be acquiring a young, promising Turkish lineup that dominated the Tier 2 EMEA scene. After winning VCT EMEA Ascension, the new BBL Esports core will be looking to transfer that level of play over to Tier 1 and qualify for their first international event in VALORANT Masters Santiago.
