OXY officially joins Sentinels after three years on Cloud9

After spending three years with Cloud9, Francis "OXY" Hoang is set to embark on a new adventure in the VCT circuit. On the same day, Sentinels officially announced the signing of the American Duelist, who will now have the opportunity to compete for a partnered team after Cloud9 was left out of the VCT 2027 partnership program.

OXY joins Sentinels

Three years later, the "free OXY from the Cloud9 jail" meme can finally be put to rest, as the American Duelist is officially leaving the organization.

Despite consistently ranking among the region's top Duelists statistically, OXY has yet to see his individual performances translate into titles. Cloud9 has failed to secure a regional championship or qualify for an international event since VCT 2023 - LOCK//IN.

OXY is now set to join another American team and regional rival, Sentinels. The organization had already announced the departure of its Duelist Gurjiwan "Jerrwin" Gill, opening up a spot on the roster that Sentinels wasted little time filling with OXY.

Sentinels reshape their roster

In a heartfelt video dedicated to OXY and Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro, who will also leave the team during the offseason, the Duelist reflected on everything Cloud9 has given him and the many memories they created together.

All good things come to an end. I appreciate all the memories and times I had at Cloud9. It was a dream come true to be given the opportunity to play on the VCT stage alongside all my teammates and I loved all the memories and tribulations we all went through. Now its time for a new era.

Sentinels was selected as one of the eight partnered teams for the VCT Americas 2027–2028 seasons. Rumors had been circulating online about a major roster overhaul, with OXY's arrival now confirming the first major change to the lineup.

So far, no information has been revealed about Zellsis' next destination.
