Yesterday, it was reported by neLendirekt that David "davidp" Prins and Jacob "pyth" Mourujärvi would be parting ways with G2 Esports. The second part was later walked back, and the report changed to only Davidp leaving. THESPIKE.GG is now happy to be able to confirm that this second iteration is correct, and Davidp will be on his way out of the organization in the coming days.

Davidp was the final signing made to G2 when the roster was being put together, and has played mainly Sage and Breach en route to the team’s six Ignition Series championships. With stats of 206 ACS, 1.2 KD, and 0.74 KPR, he was a large contributor to the team. However, with their recent 3rd-4th place finish at the First Strike Europe Regional Final, an event they would have needed two tries to qualify for were Guild Esports not disqualified, it seems G2 felt changes needed to be made, and Davidp will be the odd man out.

As for who could be his replacement on the #2 team in THESPIKE.GG’s European Rankings, things are up in the air. There’s certainly plenty of players to choose from, but will any of them make G2 better than they were? That remains to be seen.

    G2 Esports will be:

Spain Oscar “m1xwell” Cañelles Colocho Poland Patryk “paTiTek” Fabrowski Sweden Jacob “pyth” Mourujärvi Latvia Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks
