Riot Games in talks with the organizations about VALORANT esports
Even though the VALORANT is still in the phase of the closed beta, and it hasn’t been even a week since it has officially launched, some new reports are coming to light in regards to the VALORANT esports scene.
The Esports Observer has recently revealed that sources have provided the information about Riot Games meeting privately in recent weeks with the major esports organizations to introduce them to the VALORANT esports plans.
This news might be a surprise to some of the people - after all the game is still in the closed beta, but we can clearly see a close relationship between the developers and the esports community being built slowly. One of the examples of this growing relation could be the fact that early access to the game was provided by Riot Games to the picked out representatives of the organizations, professional players, content creators, streamers, as well as media outlets.
Knowing that the flagship product of Riot, League of Legends, is considered as one of the most popular and successful esports titles, we can assume without a doubt that the developers will try their best to make VALORANT as another big esports game that will be popular among professional players as well as the viewers.
Sadly, not many details about the mentioned meeting have been released since the invited representatives are certainly under the non-disclosure agreements (NDA) and Riot games declined to give any comments about this report.
With a lot of opinions about VALORANT being a competitor for the biggest first-person shooter, CS:GO, as well as the Overwatch League, seems like Riot wants to take the action as soon as possible and prepare the organizations for the long term involvement in the VALORANT scene. Even without the details being known we are thrilled to hear more about the discussions made behind the scenes and we will wait with anticipation for the future news on this topic.
