Riot teases VALORANT Agent 22 and a potentially new Agent class in latest video

A new video on the VALORANT Twitter account has been released in which Agent Lead John Goscicki (@RiotMEMEMEMEME) shared with us some details about Agent plans for 2023. While references to lower-impact gameplay changes and “anything that could impact the ecosystem" of the game such as the stinger were made, the focus of the video refers to the impact of agents and how it is managed by the VALORANT team.

For 2023, Goscicki confirmed that 2023 will see the release of 3 new Agents, including Agent 22:

• One Initiator
• One Sentinel
• An unconfirmed release that, for now, remains classified. His exact words were “we’re not going to quite give that one away yet, you’ll to have to wait until later in the year to find out”. Obviously, many fans are trying to decode what this means, but the general assumption currently is that a whole new Agent class will be coming to the game, and the hidden Agent will be the first among its kind.

As for the other agents which have had their classes confirmed, details have been leaked regarding the game’s next Agent which will be revealed as either a Sentinel or an Initiator.

This tweet from @ValorLeaks reposted an image from the previously mentioned tweet, showing art in relation to Agent 22. From VALORANT’s own video, we have been told that Agent 22 brings “their own eclectic way to deal with situations” in terms of checking corners, accessing locations, and planting the Spike. Goscicki interestingly hints that Agent 22 may have a more relaxed playstyle than aggressive Agents such as Fade. This State of the Agents release promises a significant amount of content to expect for the remainder of the year, but for now, VALORANT’s Tweet encapsulates everything we know so far about the agents.
