Sentinels part ways with bang
Sentinels have officially made their first roster change of the VALORANT offseason as the organization has revealed they have parted ways with Sean "bang" Bezerra ahead of the VCT 2026 season.
Despite their domestic success, Sentinels hinted towards possible roster changes ahead of the VCT 2026 season due to the team’s inability to translate that into international success. Now, it has been revealed that the very first roster change will come in the form of one of their newest members, bang.
bang originally joined Sentinels as their newest Controller player ahead of the VCT 2025 season after a successful three-year tenure over at 100 Thieves. With Sentinels, bang was able to fulfill his role in the team and help the organization qualify for all three VCT international tournaments in 2025. Unfortunately, Sentinels weren’t able to capitalize all too much on their relative domestic success.
Sentinels in need of a change
The team struggled at VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025, finishing in 7th-8th place. VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Toronto 2025 was the team’s most successful run of the year, where they finished with a respectable 5th-6th place finish. However, the team was unable to build on the strong momentum gained after VALORANT Masters Toronto.
Sentinels finished the Regular Season of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Americas Stage 2 with a perfect 5-0 record. Still, they faltered in the playoffs and dropped down to become the third-seeded Americas team at VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Valorant Champions. That ultimately culminated in a disappointing finish for Sentinels in Paris, where they were the only Americas team to miss playoffs at the event.
The Sentinels organization has a culture ingrained in championships, having won VCT 2021 - Stage 2 - Masters Reykjavík in 2021 and VCT 2024 - Masters Madrid in 2024. Going into the VCT 2026 season, Sentinels will be looking to build on their successes in 2025 as they strive for a championship win next year. It will be interesting to see if the team follows a similar formula to last offseason and maintains its core or if it will feature an assortment of new faces moving forward.
As for bang, the young Controller player will likely be fielding opportunities on other VCT teams as he looks for his next team to call home.
