Valorant Patch 10.10: Raze VFX overhaul and Masters Toronto pick’ems returns
Valorant Patch 10.10 is here, bringing key visual updates, competitive tweaks, and fresh esports features ahead of Masters Toronto. From Raze’s cleaner explosion effects to client improvements across PC and console, this patch focuses on clarity and consistency. Plus, Pick’Ems return to keep fans engaged as the VCT heats up. Here’s everything you need to know.
Raze’s VFX Gets a Clarity Upgrade
Patch 10.10 brings a visual refresh to one of Valorant’s most explosive duelists.
- Raze’s Boom Bot and Paint Shells have had their explosion VFX reworked to more accurately represent their hitboxes.
- In addition to improved visual precision, the explosion effects now linger for a shorter period of time. Thus improving overall clarity and reducing visual clutter in the middle of tense fights.
This tweak should make it easier for players to understand the threat radius of Raze’s abilities and make better real-time decisions without being overwhelmed by long-lasting explosions.
Esports Feature: Pick’Ems Return for Masters Toronto
The long-awaited Pick’Ems feature is back just in time for VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Toronto 2025. Beginning May 28, players can predict the outcomes of the Swiss Stage both in-client and online.
Here’s what’s coming in the pick’ems system:
- Predict which teams will advance from the 8-team Swiss groups.
- Bonus points are awarded for correctly calling a 2-0 flawless group stage.
- Earn a unique title just by participating.
- Players who finish in the Top 50% or Top 20% globally will receive additional rewards.
- A VAL Community Leaderboard will track top predictors across all regions.
- When the Playoffs begin, the Pick’Ems expand into full double-elimination bracket predictions, allowing for even more points and prestige.
This feature is exclusive to PC players for now and is poised to deepen engagement with the VCT tournament experience.
Client Overhaul for Cross-Platform Consistency
Riot is laying the groundwork for a more unified VALORANT experience between PC and console with a set of client-side updates.
On Console:
- The page for navigating specific content types has been removed.
- All content types, including Player Cards and Sprays/Flex items, are now accessible from the main Collection page, mirroring the PC layout.
- Gamepad navigation has been improved for smoother browsing.
On PC:
- Weapon tiles no longer display level and chroma indicators.
- Minor layout adjustments streamline the interface.
These changes are part of a broader effort to reduce development redundancy and accelerate feature rollout across all platforms.
Competitive Changes: Rank Rollback Adjustments
Patch 10.10 introduces a subtle yet impactful change to the competitive ecosystem. Players below Radiant will now receive a larger cap for refunded Ranked Rating (RR) during Act rollbacks.
Riot says this move is designed to address edge cases and improve the fairness of the ranking system, especially in scenarios where issues caused incorrect placements or missing points.
Modes and Map Updates
Swiftplay:
The Armageddon starting points for Tejo were adjusted from 2 to 3 in Patch 10.09 but only now officially acknowledged. The change aligns with future updates where ultimates with 9 points will be scaled accordingly.
Icebox:
The map continues to be disabled in Deathmatch and Escalation modes due to unresolved spawn issues first introduced in Patch 10.09. Riot is still investigating the fix, so expect Icebox to remain sidelined in these modes for now.
Bug Fixes Galore
Patch 10.10 also addresses several longstanding bugs across multiple agents:
Omen- Reverted a problematic fix from 10.08 that allowed dead teammates spectating Omen to see through nearsight effects like Viper’s ultimate.
- A separate issue persists: Omen may have trouble seeing properly when overlapping other smokes during Dark Cover usage. Riot is still investigating.
- Arc Rose now no longer triggers hit confirmation on non-player entities.
- A critical bug where Arc Rose became unusable if placed too close to the spike has been resolved.
- Her Net Toss now consistently ensnares airborne enemies, eliminating a bug where players could jump out of its range despite being inside the affected zone.
- Astra’s concuss now interacts correctly with Tejo’s stealth drone.
- Rocket projectiles are no longer affected by Waylay’s saturation or Convergent Paths.
- His flash decals no longer persist on walls they bounce off of, helping to clean up the battlefield visually.
- A fix for his orbital strike visuals that were being rendered beneath the map is now in place.
Console Improvements Continue
Console players receive a few key upgrades with this patch, particularly in controls:
- Fast Melee Equip now includes a description in the settings menu under Controls > Advanced.
- Walk/Run Threshold and Movement Deadzone settings now allow for broader customization:
- Walk/Run Threshold minimum reduced from 0.5 to 0.001
- Movement Deadzone maximum increased from 0.5 to 1.0
These adjustments, already technically live in 10.09, are now officially documented, offering more precise tuning for analog input sensitivity.
Patch 10.10 focuses on clarity, consistency, and brings back the community favorite Picke'em system. With Masters Toronto around the corner and Pick’Ems returning, now’s the time to lock in your predictions and sharpen your skills.
