VALORANT Patch 13.06: New Performance Score replaces ACS, Warden release, and more
VALORANT Patch 13.06 brings a wave of new updates, including several features announced in recent days. From the new Gauntlet: Glitched game mode and Warden rifle to changes coming to Agent Mastery, there is plenty to explore in the latest patch.
A Revamped Client
Home and Lobby will merge into a single hub, giving players a clearer overview of everything happening in the game. The new layout will make it easier to select a game mode, invite friends for a ranked match, and queue up. Players will also be able to check Events, Missions, the active map pool, and other important information without leaving the main page.
Overall, navigating between the main hubs will be easier, making it clearer where you are at any given moment. Several features will also receive new icons, improving the visual experience.
Everything New in the Competitive Queue
As for the Competitive queue, Patch 13.06 introduces several new features designed to give players more insight into their ranked experience.
Range and Queue
Players can now enter the Range while waiting in queue, allowing them to warm up their aim before a match. Matchmaking can be started from either the Lobby or the Range, although the feature may be temporarily unavailable when short queue times are expected. Modes without Agent Select, such as Premier and Deathmatch, will not support queueing from the Range.
New Performance Score replaces ACS
The Average Combat Score (ACS) is being replaced by Performance Score, a 0–500 rating designed to provide a more complete picture of a player’s impact beyond just kills and damage. Players can check their score breakdown after each game to see what influenced their performance, areas for improvement, and how close they were to a Masterful performance.
The system will be available in Competitive, Unrated, Swiftplay, and Premier, with Performance Score now determining MVPs and scoreboard placement in these modes.
Accolades
Players can now track standout achievements throughout the Act and across their entire VALORANT career. Accolades highlight personal bests across various stats, including contributions measured by Performance Score, with tracking starting from Patch 13.06.
They can be viewed in the End of Game experience and Competitive Hub, but are only available in Competitive and Premier. All players will start fresh, as previous match data will not count toward Accolades.
Rank Legacy
Players can now track how many times they’ve reached each rank throughout their Competitive career, essentially creating a personal trophy case. The Competitive Hub will show both their current rank and lifetime ranks, with counters increasing whenever they reach a rank or set a new peak.
Each existing rank can increase its counter once every three Acts, while demoting into a rank will not count toward its total.
Career Page
The Career Page is getting a fresh look, along with new pages designed to support the latest Competitive features. Players can now find their top Agents, Match History, and Rank in one place, with more personalization options.
The Competitive Hub, accessible through the Career Page, provides an overview of the current Competitive Act, along with dedicated pages for Accolades and Rank Legacy. Players can also preview upcoming features.
- Accolade Page: View all your Accolades in one place, with details on how each one is earned.
- Rank Legacy Page: Look back at your Competitive journey and the ranks you have achieved over time.
Friends can still view your Career Page and the Competitive Hub overview, while the dedicated Competitive Hub pages are only visible to you.
Riot Games also teased more Competitive updates for future patches, including Map Rating in Patch 13.08, Competitive Flex in Patch 14.00, and updates to the Radiant experience in Patch 14.00.
The End Game
The End of Game experience has been revamped to provide a clearer summary of each match and what comes next. Players can now view their performance, rewards, match details, and other key information in one place, with the most important moments highlighted.
The updated screen will showcase achievements such as earning MVP or ranking up, while also tracking progress across systems like Agent Mastery, Accolades, and Performance Score.
The End of Game experience will progress automatically, but players can move through it at their own pace, explore additional details, requeue immediately, or return to the Lobby whenever they are ready.
Warden, New Game Mode, and Agent Mastery
As mentioned earlier, several updates have already been announced throughout the past week. You can find more details about all of them here:
Player Behavior Updates
The Riot Voice Evaluation (RVE), the technology used to detect toxic behavior in VALORANT’s voice communications, is expanding its support to Spanish, Portuguese, and Korean.
The system has been updated to better detect disruptive behavior in these three languages. Players who encounter toxic behavior are encouraged to report it through the Voice Comms Abuse category in-game, helping Riot identify and take action against disruptive behavior while continuing to improve RVE.
During the week, Riot Games also announced a major ban wave targeting smurfing and boosted accounts across League of Legends and VALORANT. According to Riot, the company has been banning around 1,600 accounts per day, resulting in more than 90,000 accounts banned since July 20. You can find more details about the ban wave here.
Bug Fixes
They have also addressed several bugs in this update. You can check the full list and find more details on the official VALORANT Patch Notes page.
