ZETA DIVISION has just shaken things up with their active roster for the first time in nearly two years. They said goodbye to Tenta "ten" Asai and head coach Hibiki "XQQ" Motoyama, while Hibiki "XQQ" Motoyama moved into a coaching role.

ZETA announced crow transitioned into coaching

The core and staff from Absolute JUPITER were acquired by ZETA over two years ago and even made it to 2021's Masters: Berlin, although they didn't win a single match. In 2022, there were some changes in the roster before the VCT. Most of the core team, except Team Captain Ushida "Laz" Koji and crow, were replaced with Yuma "Dep" Hashimoto, Shota "SugarZ3ro" Watanabe, and TENNN. This move paid off big time. They won the Japan Stage 1: Challengers Playoffs, earning them a ticket to Masters: Reykjavik. Their journey at Masters: Reykjavik had some ups and downs. Initially expected to leave Group A without a win, they surprised everyone by beating Fnatic and making a poetic comeback against Ninjas In Pyjamas. Although they stumbled against G2 Esports in the opener, they fought back in the lower bracket and secured a third-place finish, the highest ever for Japan in an international event at that time. But then, things didn't go so well. They missed Masters: Copenhagen, struggled at Champions, and had a rough time in the Pacific League playoffs, missing Masters: Tokyo.

So, changes were in order. TENNN and XQQ shifted gears, focusing on contention creation under ZETA, while crow, the team's former in-game leader, transitioned into coaching.

With two spots open on the active roster for the 2024 VCT, the team now consists of:

  • Japan Kouji "Laz" Ushida
  • Japan Yuma "Dep" Hisamoto
  • Japan Shota "SugarZ3ro" Watanabe
  • Japan Ryo "barce" Takebayashi (Sub)

  • Japan Maruoka "crow" Tomoaki (Coach)

  • Japan Hibiki "XQQ" Motoyama (Coach)

  • Japan gya9 (Analyst)

  • Japan Shunsuke "Ishigakiyama" Ishigaki (Manager)
